  1. Thanks. I'll be very close to Popham, my wife and daughter usually like to spend one day exploring the edge of the river below the fort. Might need to throw the rod in the car!
  2. Headed p for my annual visit this Saturday, a lot earlier in the summer than I usually go. I know things were slow to start down here in CT and RI, wondering how it's going up there this year. I have my kayak, not looking for spots, just some general news on what's around,
  3. Headed up this weekend to go camping. Normally I'm there in the summer. Is there anything happening yet, or is the water still too cold?
  4. You could try Lavin's Landing in Charlestown. I know they have transient slips. You will be a bit of a ways away though, and a 36' may be too big for them.
  5. ^^^^^^^^^^ Do we need to preregister for this? I'll be right up the road, would love to attend!
  6. The entire center floor section was replaced, and at the same time fuel system was either cleaned (tank) or replaced (pretty much everything else).
  7. There used to be a small shop going down Rt. 216 towards Hermit Island (where I'll be in 3 weeks!) but I don't think I've ever actually been in there.
  8. I'm looking at a 1990, with a Yamaha 150 on it. Looks reasonably sound and cared for. My concern is that it looks like the cutout at the transom is fairly low. Admittedly, I have not seen it in person yet, only pictures. But I'm worried about water coming over the back with a following sea or backing down. Does anyone have any experience with this hull that can comment on it?
  9. I am going to be camping in the area in a couple weeks, right on the water. I spend most of my time fishing in RI and CT. I'm not looking for spots (pretty much bound to the campground anyway) but was wondering what to expect and plan for. I may be able to bring my kayak, but likely bound to the shore. What is around the area mid summer? What works?
  10. So, there it is in it's current glory. It appears that it had one guide just below the ferrule, and a typical double (180 deg. apart) guide part way up the top section. I can see pretty clearly where all the decorative wraps were, I'm going to measure and document their location and replicate it as closely as possible. There are two scraps of thread left, one a dark red, almost burgundy, and black, so I'll use those as a guide.
  11. From what I can tell, there are no threads, it is simply a slip ring. It is corroded right now and won't move, but I think it can be persuaded.
  12. The decal is actually fish shaped. Hard to see it in the picture though.
  13. It is a Horrocks and Ibbotson, made in Utica, NY. From what I have discovered, they can run the range from dime store made by the hundreds (or thousands) to some fairly nice higher end rods. Sadly, the decal is all but obliterated, so I have no clue about a model. I'll post a few pics I took last night.
  14. I certainly will. I'll get some before's tonight. May be a while for the afters, but I want it done before rental season starts in the house this summer.
