  1. Let's put a limit on the recreational boat catch,,,,, No offense to the boat guys they are allowed to fish too, but how about the pics seen posted online of several adults, a couple-few kids and 2 big keepers for every person on the boat. really guys!
  2. Go to Duxbury, Snug Harbor, and charter out of Duxbury Bait and Tackle with John Bunar. Catches BIG stripers like no one else. Guy is probably part fish,,,,,,, I live in duxbury, I don't ask or get anything from John (other than the occasional chance to pick his brain), just to me it is a no-brainer. I know there are alot of good fishermen out there, but people should see the fish come off his boat(s) when he returns from a charter,,,, it's ridiculous how good he is
  3. live close to marsh/scit/dux beach ,,,,, any advice on digging clams heard that after a good blow they will be on beach,,,,, can they also be dug at low tide? i assume it must be just like digging any ol' clam? thanks, CC
  4. Bospa, I will send u a PM,,, Your generosity is greatly appreciated, but I would love to give you something. Great spot for fishermen to gather, Thanks Tim and the whole community! In the future I will pass on the kindness! CC
  5. Need to get my 9 yr old his first rig and hope to set him up w/a Shimano Baitrunner so we can fish the same techniques. Does not have to be perfect cosmetically. Thanks, Have A Good Year
  6. "So last year i noticed i had the jetties all to myself. Not one time have i seen another fisherman while i was fishing.Does anyone else here fish jetties between situate and Plymouth?Last year i released 23 bass over 36 inches in one area alone.Anyone want to go try some time let me know we can car pool". so much for having the jetties all to yourself. I had a gr8t little spot that wasn't known just to me, but very few definitely. Out of camaraderie I brought 2 colleagues, who fished but never caught much, out for an early Fall night. Had a gr8t night,,,This spot isn't very big at all and my favorite position van only hold 1 or 2 guys. These guys, neither one family men, fished it, literally, 48 out of the next 50 nights. One guy brought a friend. They are already planning this season. ANd bringing other people. Most of the participants here are gr8t guys I am sure. But there have 2 be people that just scan the posts to pick up spots. I learned the hard way,,,if u find a spot, keep it 2 yourself. Sadly, the guys who ruined my
  7. i wasn't complaining that they aren't residents,,,i am in favor of open access to the water,,i live in a beach town and would vote in favor of open access high horse? i don't assume that i own a spot, but when u try and show 2 guys that like 2 fish a good time and they fish a tiny secluded spot every single night for most of Sep and Oct with about 3 or 4 nights off,,and one guy drives 40 miles 2 get there well that seems extreme doesn't it? 3,4 rods apiece?
  8. when i first joined i thought that the spot-burning was a little over the top. then last fall i took 2 friends from work, who had been very good to me, to my fav. spot as a favor. Well, we hooked into some nice fish which turned out not to be a good thing. Unlike myself these 2 guys are not married w/kids and turned out to fish my spot, which is about the size of a small backyard, literally almost every night for over a month!!!!!!!!! And one guy brought a friend!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sadly, the local charter Capt. knows the only remedy,,,,,,, it is a resident only parking and he said if it happens again this year then we might have to make a call. Something I don't want to do but these guys are already talking about the Fall run.
  9. Selling my Fenwick 10' salt stick paired with Shimano 3500 bb This has been my main rod and reel for 3 seasons It has been used, but always fresh water rinsed, had it's annual maintenance by the local tackle shop guy every year but this one. Still works fine 60.00$, if paypal please add pp charge I will ship, but the cost would 60 plus shipping
  10. I live in Duxbury and the guys up here have been killing them lately. But in all likelihood our season will be ending (for the most part) in a week or two. I have never fished the Canal, and I get a sense of the difficulties the regulars must put up with. I just wanted to ask one simple quesion; In your opinion will the Canal fish well after the next week or two? Just tough for me to travel because I have 3 little kids and feel like I haven't been fishing enough this year. Don't want any info on a spot, or a specific technique, just want to know if it is worth a trip down? (a night on the water is better than a night doing nothing, but a night out costs me a lot of brownie points at home)
  11. Yeah it's another thread, but guys fishing a bunch of rods is inconsiderate and rude. Guy in my town literally chunks half a dozen rods, tries to snag for bunker and if he snags some he is chunking 6 rods, livelining 1 or 2,, and this ain't no beach,,,,, telling everyone how many fish he catches, how to fish their own stuff, they are not using the right stuff,, expects special treatment,,,,,,,, what can you do?
