  1. I typically use 6oz crocs, AVA47s and 6" pearl swimmers.
  2. It’s always a good idea to insult noobies, or at least try and scare them off the beach. After all, we don’t want them to be there for us when we’re fighting beach replenishment project or regulation changes. We’re much better off having them be neutral or on the other side. And the tackle shops we love don’t rely on their business, so it’s all for the best. I know that the number of hunters and fisherman have steadily been declining since the 1970’s, and groups like PETA have been growing and trying to put an end to recreational fishing. But I still think it’s better to chase off new fisherman. Helping a noobies can’t be a good idea.
  3. They make anchors for kayaks. For a while I was using a brick. That worked well enough.
  4. I don't think it's okay to abuse fish. But the only way to be sure not to hurt a fish is to stop fishing.
  5. Exactly...It's marketed as less visible. I don't believe it. IMHO, matching the water color and environment makes braid less detectable.
  6. I don't see any need for it. Just a money maker for someone. Keep it simple. Also, I'm really sorry that it took me 13 years to reply.
  7. I use 12lb with no issues. But the "crystal" idea they are selling is bullcrap.
  8. I haven't caught hybrids in North Carolina or Smallmouth in Quebec but, from my experience in the northeast, this is 100% true.
  9. I believe JB Kasper uses a rod similar to that for shad, and no one knows the Big D like he does.
  10. Go to Cabelas and look at the 400 different types and sizes of lines that they have. Each one is perfect for something.
  11. Mounting fish is expensive, time consuming, and they don't last. Buy a replica based off of the picture. You will be happier.
  12. Very nice fish. Good refridgerator pictures too. Congratulations.
  13. I'm just saying that you caught a stocked fish. The NJDEP didn't stock above Lake Solitude this year, but the clubs and Shannon's did.
