  1. Yeah it's usually my October haunt, I will check it out late September.
  2. Thanks very much, that's what I figured. Appreciate it !
  3. Hey guys, so my youngest is old enough to start surfcasting. I want to take him there this fall. It's one of favorite spots but when the parking thing happend during covid, I stopped going During covid the parking thing changed as everyone knows. I haven't been there since. Is that area before the gate still sticker required during the fall? And / or is that gate left open during off season like it used to be pre covid? Don't mean to spot burn, happy to take this post down. Thanks
  4. around ten years ago Field and Stream did an article on this with tips. They had to apologize a couple of issues later, I guess they got some negative feedback. I still remember the graphic it was an angler behind a bush being sneaky. Thought it was funny.
  5. A lot of folks are complaining that use the Island. According to the town minutes, it will extend past beach season with a consideration of it stopping in the winter sometime, which is probably BS.
  6. Glad to see The Rhode Island board is up and running again! Ive missed it
  7. +1 on getting a decent vehicle, or youll spend a fustrating time finding/getting to spots and much less fishing time. Two head lights and batteries especially if you are unfamiliar with the terriain. Folks make poor decisions when they are either drinking or sleep deprived, dont be either. Drink lots of water. Enjoy!
  8. A couple of poor duck hunters perished in the Westport river with a small boat just a few years back.. I'm sure some folks here may know one or two of them. Just be sure your boat can take a decent wake/wave and listen to your fears. It's rivers and bodies of water like that which look harmless enough. Ive even been in the calm Barrington river in a small Jon boat when the weather got a bit ugly. Boat was getting tossed around pretty good. We were nervous. Grant it this was in the fall/winter, Just watch the weather reports before you take one out.
  9. I have one my kid got from his school sports instead of a trophy. He never used it. I saw the same one on Amazon for 18.00. It's light and has an outside pocket I use for my line wallet. I don't even know it's on me. I just spray the zipper with anti corrosion spray. On my third season now. When the zipper corrodes. Ill spend another 18.00 Just go to amazon and look up school day sling packs. Save your money for a fly line. https://www.amazon.com/Waterfly-Shoulder-Backpacks-Crossbody-Multipurpose/dp/B0771QNCCJ?ref_=ws_cp_428ff2f4913f9e8d4e2b_p_2_t_p
