I didn't see any metal in ur list...I like to have some charlie graves ( plus a spoon, and some kast masters). These last ones usually don't come out till the blues show up.
One other thought, if you need distance in your cast, it will come as you get more feel for the new rod.Start with more of a "Lob cast". Maintain tension on the line, and try to avoid any snap or whip in your cast.
Hey guys,
I got my fish home this morning and saw there were these clear / off white bugs attached to the fishes tail. They remind me of tan colored sand fleas my kids find while digging in the beach. These were only attached to the tail. on both sides of the fish. they looked very streamline and stuck on good. They came off only if scraped off with a knife as if you were scaling a fish, tail to head. otherwise the fish looked healthy.
Any ideas what there critters are?
Is the fish safe to eat?
sorry no pictures...
fished NoMoCo from 5-9 this morning landed four to 32 inches, lost even more. Saw lots of bait in the water, all fish and hits were before sun up.
fish were caught on black superstrike needles and slugos
NoMoCo...had em good right after the turn of the tide. The clouds opened up and as soon as the rain kicked in hard the fish were on. all hits were right at the surf line. black bombers, black needles and black ronz all worked....did i mention they wanted something black?
after the rain the clouds cleared up and the bite died out.
thanks Ken and sudsy,
I still can't get the right side plate off the right ring.
I did manage to put it all back together with some trial and error.
only thing is the drag is really weak. there is almost no tension until I get to the last 1/2 turn in the star drag...then it goes from acceptable to locked down in the last 1/4 turn of the drag. can't figure that out.
Do I need new drag washers?
better question...any tips for removing the right side ring from the face plate? If I can get this off I think I can get the dog in easy.
But they are really stuck together...anyway enough...time to fish.
Hi Guys,
I've got a penn surfmaster 200 that I picked up at a garage sale....and it cleaned up great...
only one problem. I can't get the dog and pin quite right! This is my first complete take apart and re-build. I've googled the re-build sites and only thing I can't find is how the dog and pin should line up and how to hold the dog in place while I put the darn thing back together....
Can someone help?
Tight lines..
