  1. I have well water, had it tested when I first bought the house. It came back good, everything of concern was well below thresholds. I wanted to use some sort of filter for peice of mind. There had historically been alot of agriculture in the area, and a military industry base as few miles away. I shopped around at different options, called different companies and explained my situation and eventually settled on the below. Its for drinking water only, installs under your sink. I think your water would have to be horrible for you not to be able to shower with it. I would think thats a pretty rare situation.
  2. Its the dollar store cheese they use...
  3. I would bump up to 65lb braid. I like the yozuri hybrid it did very well in tests. Get the reel spooled at a shop so you can get it packed on tight. 65lb will be helpful when you encounter bluefin over 100lbs, which has been happening a fair amount in the last few years. Jigging world does make some very nice stuff. Also whitewateroutfitters a tackle shop here on longisland has a crazy sale going on with centaur rods. They are very knowledgeable and could help you pick a model over the phone. If you go on thier website make sure its thier legit site, theres a scammer copycat website out there like many others.
  4. Im a big fish eater, mostly the more desirable ones but I mix some "trash" in there. Bluefish either brined and smoked. Or take some sections, remove all the red , rub with olive oil, season heavily and grill. Or take peices , remove all the red, egg wash, season bread crumbs, shallow fry in a pan, put it over pasta and cover it with a nice laddle of red sauce. Bleeding, icing fish well, and eating with in a day or two are key. Skipjack & False albacore. Bleed and ice well. Eat them as sushi and its hard to tell them apart from "real" tuna. If you cook them through they do take on a pretty strong flavor. Searobin, i dont love these but they do make decent fried fish. Herring, pickle them. Scup/porgy, eat them fresh. Frozen or even after a few days in the fridge they take on a less desirable flavor.
  5. Usually just save them for crab bait.
  6. Just build your damn table. Its rough cut, you want a rustic kinda look?? So what IF it cracks or IF it warps alittle. If want table now make it, if you listen to these guys youll be dead before the wood is ready.
