  1. I’m sure there will be some of the Progressively oriented Protestant Churches that get right onboard with this. There are also those who would say; ”Piss Off”.
  2. The band is playing on the Titanic’s deck… Deficit spending is a policy tool and in certain time periods (war/economic crisis/natural disaster) a requirement. What we have settled into isn’t simply deficit spending, but rampant and gross overspending. There was an economist that compared the federal budget to a households spending (this was back around 2008) and likened our spending to using credit cards to finance the 50% of your budget that you didn’t earn. At the scale we’re going, there will be an event that signals the end of the party, and the hangover will be epic. Look up “The Penny Plan” (Rep. Connie Mack) and its logic. We didn’t get here overnight and won’t (if we try to) get out of it overnight.
  3. I've always thought of her as "old horse face"... Not a shining example of what we'd hope to see in Congress, but unfortunately just one of the crowd.
  4. That's actually a pretty good article. I don't agree with the duty to retreat and am glad we don't have that down here. I'm a States Rights guy and although I don't like the laws in New Jersey, if that's what the people there want through their elected officials, I guess it's good for them. What pisses me off is when Liberal Progressives form wherever start talking about using Federal Laws to dictate what everyone will do. All that aside, like NJ, if you are involved in a shooting here in Texas, there will be an investigation and as one of the folks said, "you could be charged" based on the findings and unfortunately, the politics of the District Attorney.
  5. It'll be interesting to see how this shakes out in practice. The real cost of the illegals on society is far greater than any number the Progressives will admit to. No benefits. No school. No medical and no birthright citizenship (an incorrect interpretation of the 14th).
  6. Despite the fervent wishes of a psychologically disturbed portion of the population, there are still only two sexes, male and female. Those who proclaim otherwise, well... there's something gone wrong upstairs. This is a good thing.
  7. I thought this sums it up nicely…
  8. They need to, as it's a flawed document. Look at who created it. That should be the first clue as to why they believe it's another example of White Privilege.
  9. I believe that it will come out at some point that KO has had a slowly growing brain tumor... how else could his insane behavior and commentary be explained?
  10. If you haven’t seen it, try “The Outpost”, a mostly accurate film about a FOB (Camp Keating) in the sticks of Afghanistan. It actually compresses events from three units deployments. My son says they show the outpost as larger than it really was.
  11. The Founders would refer to Natural Rights and made a worthy attempt to preserve those rights through the Constitution. The years have seen the Federal Government amass such powers as to make the Constitution fade in its power. We currently have a extra-Constitutional Federal Government. My favorite area of abuse is The Commerce Clause.
  12. As I grew up (on the Island) we were given the expectation that if you got into it with a cop, you were going to take some lumps. My parents (who came from the city) said the beat cop often dispensed quite a bit of behavioral correction around the neighborhood and that their nightsticks weren't just for show. Of course, at that time, the worst thing for a cop to do was to drag a kid home to his parents... if that happened, you know what was going to happen when the old man found out.
  13. I’ve gone from working in the trucking industry to supplying technology to the trucking industry, so I’ve got some actual knowledge about it… First off, delivering in the NYC (LI too) area has never been popular with drivers in the Truckload industry. Access, low bridges, tolls, traffic, all make it a PIA destination. That said, drivers in Company Fleets don’t have a choice in destinations. You go where dispatched or you’ll be terminated. Lease Operators have more say, but are locked into a relationship with the company they are leasing the truck from and in the end are in much the same boat as Company Drivers. Owner Operators have the most control over their destinations. Those signed onto a specific company (Knight-Swift, Werner, Schneider, etc) can turn down loads, but risk getting crappy loads if they’re too picky. True Owner Operators who are booking their freight through Freight Brokers can truly say “NO” (which most do already) to loads to the NYC Metro area. So, in the end, IMO, this is a lot of fluff.
