  1. Surfrat59. I currently use an Aero Technium 14000 XTC, and several 14000 Ultegras for dunking baits like whole shrimp or live baby goatfish. I'm casting these baits with lead ranging from 4-8oz and using Breakaway Cannon's on all of my rods. These reels are filled with 40-60lb hollow core and are connected to 50-80lb wind on leaders. No shaft bending or stem flexing problems encountered when catching Ulua (GT) up to 30lbs. You could use way lighter braid than I use. I fish in rocky areas in Hawaii. I have used both Shimano and Daiwa long casting reels since the early 90's when Daiwa had the SS9000 and over time have settled on Shimano. Neither brand has ever done me wrong with LC reels. The Daiwa feels stronger and the Shimanos seem smoother to crank. I feel I get more distance with the Shimanos. Easier to get the Shimano serviced. I rinse my reels with freshwater after each outing and haven't had corrosion issues with the magnesium bodies. Currently using CTS S8 and S7 rods with Daiwa Tournament Ballistics 33 and 35 as back up rods.
  2. Do you have the box and whatever else came in the box with the reel?
  3. My choices for the best long distance spinners are both Shimano reels. 14000 sized Ultegra and Aero Technium. I prefer the Ultegra XTD over the current XTE model. XTD feels somewhat stronger when reeling in fish/leads, to me. The only drawback on the 14000 Aero Technium XTC is the drag clicker is very quiet. I installed the clicker upgrade and even though it was louder it's still too quiet. Hopefully, the current XTD model has a louder clicker.
  4. The Penn Torque and Torque II spinning reels.
  5. Thank you for the offer Mr. Bigdeal but I'm not interested in fly rods. I should add I'm willing to consider trading for 3 piece CTS S8 or S7 rods.
  6. 2022 model. This reel has been out of the box for pictures only. $650.00 shipped to your door via USPS with tracking and insured (requires signature). Payment through PayPal. Will trade for USA made Fenwick HMG rods 9’ or longer plus $$$. Mahalo.
  7. Mahalo Searobin, Tim S., and SOL. Thread closed.
  8. Sorry. Reopening thread. I'm willing to accept $645.00 shipped USPS. Payment through PayPal. Will leave open for 24 hours. Aloha.
  9. Reel was last serviced in 2017. Used less than 10 times since servicing.
  10. Reel is in used condition. Several small marks on the body of the reel. Nothing major. Some corrosion spots on the spool. Extra spool in mint condition. Reel was never submerged and was always rinsed with fresh water after each use. Both spools were treated with superzilla for protection. No box, pouch, or anything else included. Just the reel and the extra spool. $695 shipped USPS Priority Mail. Payment through PayPal.
  11. I have a brand new JDM 2500S K I’d be willing to part with for $580 shipped USPS Priority mail. Payment through PayPal
  12. Thank you. Not the length I'm looking for. GLWS
