wdmso
BBC Ben Carson told an interviewer on Wednesday that being gay is "absolutely" a choice. His evidence? "Because a lot of people who go into prison go into prison straight - and when they come out, they're gay. So, did something happen while they were in there? Ask yourself that question." Bloomberg's Dave Weigel quips: "This was the day that Ben Carson moved from 'guy who will never be president' to 'guy who will never be president.'" Amazing just Amazing what other insight's does this man possess ... and some here support Him
Shipwreck
Ouch. This is why he is too good a man to be president. What he said made a lot of sense and reflects my opinion exactly... Until he started saying absolutely and talking crazy about prisons and gay people making the choice to be gay. That's crazy talk. But he believe it so he said it. And pretty much put his foot in his mouth. And that's why an honest man cannot be president these days. Sad. At least your are correct about him never being president. BTW, just how many stupid things has President Obama said and he is the President? That list would go on longer than the energizer bunny. jkrock
I'm disappointed in Ben. He should have said it's a medical issue and that someday, we may be able to cure it. "mother Theresa was a POS"-fish'nmagician
dena
Not a big deal to me. What he said goes against the narrative, sure, but in the grand scheme of things, if he has good ideas about how to change the country's arc, he may get my vote. A person's views on sexuality are their own, and not my business. And, why can't homosexuality have more than one origin? What is wrong with some folks being born gay, and others choosing to be gay? MikeM58
Carson does not want the definition of Marriage changed. He wants it to remain being between a man and a woman. That's what the conversation was about that these comments came from. He agrees that gay couples should have the same rights to visitation, property, etc as a traditional married couple does, so he's not out to discrimate against gays (which is the much larger point IMO). His views on what makes someone gay, are his own, but he is not looking to make policy that would discriminate against gays, so I don't see how this would disqualify him to be POTUS. Human sexuality is the least of our problems for the majority in this country.

Whenever a Republican looks like a threat, get him talking social issues, and wait for him to honestly say something from the heart, take a snippet, and let nature take its course. KnewBee
So you are disqualifying a devout Christian based upon their religion? Hell yes. A persons religious beliefs should be exclusively private and personal. When espoused, especially amongst politicians, then it becomes a serious problem for me.
