Spigola
Just saw that BPS will be opening on April 15 in AC.
MitchellNJ
BPS is great if you want to fish with Skeet Reese combos and throw KVD crankbaits. They completely suck for saltwater. My bro gave me a $50 gift card for Christmas. I bought some hooks a few snags and an anchor trolley for the yak. I was actually working very hard to put together a cart of stuff for $50. wantofish
Tell me about it, I have had a 75.00 gift card for almost a year and have yet found something they stock that I would purchase, (lures, gulp, braid, etc...). Not my cup of tea, fisherman's supply here I come......

Not my cup of tea, fisherman's supply here I come...... Thats crazy. I could easily spend 75 in there on stuff I use. XRaps, soft plastics, jig heads, hooks, leader line etc. If you can't spend 75 in BPS you are the ONLY person on this site with too much gear. PM Casting
I often visit the Harrisburg, PA Bass Pro Shop ( have relatives nearby) and I have a hard time spending my gift cards. That location is big on fresh water and no so much into the saltwater stuff. I did once get a great deal on Mercury OEM 6 gallon gas tanks that they were trying to get rid of. On a side note, there will be a new BPS in Sayreville, NJ in a couple of years. It is supposed to be the largest one east of the Missippi! Here's an example, go on their web site and try buying a qt. container of qulp alive "YOU Can't" Try buying a pint container of pink gulp alive. YOU can't. It's like that with many of the items I use for surf fishing, it has nothing to do with too much gear.
ShoNuff
Your just being a hater at this point. I see other colors than pink available to purchase. We all know pink produces, but if you cant catch fluke with white or chartreuse you doing it wrong. I never said they have everything, simply was trying to say they have to plenty to use a 75 dollar gift card on. Obama > Bush
Slacker
I go to the supermarket and can't get truffles. BPS has a huge selection of lines, plastics, tackle organizers, reels, outerwear, marine parts, etc... they have a hunting catalog, a saltwater catalog. Spending $50 is not hard unless you are one of those people that stares at a diner menu and say, "there's nothing here I can eat". Â A spool of braid and a couple of leader spools of fluoro and $50 is gone. Â Sheesh.

It really has nothing to do with "too much gear".

Two 25 packs of Gami octopus 4/0s and you'll be covered for a season or two of tog fishing and the gift card gone.

Looks Fishy
I shop BPS because like many of us family gives me gift cards, not my 1st choice to purchase gear(would rather support the local B & T's). That being said each location stocks the gear most common for that region. Example Harrisburg fresh water gear and hunting, The Islamorada Store only has saltwater Gear. (name is world wide sportsman but is still bass pro). Trouble spending a $50 gift card at BPS. Last time I checked Costa's were $200, Penn spinfisher $150, Gortex Jacket $200, Wading Boots $75, Suffix Braid $30 and the list goes on and all available on line. Let me reiterate would still rather support the local B & T's

I have other sources for that type of stuff where the prices are way better. I buy those by 100 packs.  LoL... well some people a difficult to buy for. But I'd always welcome a gift card to BPS.  I'm always appreciative and polite of course. I'd rather the money goes local anyway.

Between the bay for hooks and the guys selling at $.15/oz here, I really don't shop much anywhere else for bottom stuff.
