PilotMan25
Heard about a week ago that there are tons of bunker in that area right now. Guess the cold is starting to get to them.

Bristol Lou
Sounds like the bunker stayed in the warm canal water. Partial response from an APP article    The event is a seasonal anomaly, he said.  Ragonese added: "If we try to pull them out of the water we'll kill them. If we push them into the cold (of Barnegat Bay), we'll kill them. And if they continue to stay there, they're going to gradually continue to die. So there's not a lot we can do."  Oyster Creek staff are disposing of the fish, Ragonese said.  "Exelon Generation (which operates Oyster Creek Generation Station) is working closely with the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection and an independent fish pathologist to better understand what caused the death of more than 5,000 Atlantic Menhaden in Oyster Creek's discharge canal," D'Ambrosio said in a statement. "Early results of a fish study underway confirm that large numbers of Atlantic Menhaden... are becoming stressed and dying as predatory fish drive them into colder waters." Are you saying that fishermen killed hundreds of bunker? I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy.

When you get hundreds of fish in a confined area like that, they use up all the oxygen in the water and suffocate

night shade
My comment was directed to the group that never quits fishing the creek after the stroke of midnight entering January 1st to February 28th midnight. So to be even more precise if you fish bays inlets or salt rivers during the prohibited against the law time I don't like your ethics. Simple. The creek falls in that category. My comment pertains to striped bass fishing.

ChumSlickJon
The creek is actually considered a freshwater body of water. I don't think striper season closes there.
