JaseB
I'm going to put my money on still good assuming it was kept in a deep freeze the whole time. Whip up a spicy rub a cook that sucker! "all of jase's posts are valid." -Otter
jimmy1956
I'd throw it out. two years is a long time for meat even frozen.
ScottO
I;d suspect it is edible. Defrost and see if it is mush. If smells good should be good to go.
SB59
Frozen good indefinitely for safety, only quality suffers. Check FDA website. Cut out any freezer burn if present and crock-pot with moisture ( BBQ sauce etc.) for pulled pork!
Mike
Depends on the freezer and how many defrost cycles it ran. Only way to tell is defrost and see. Trim any burn. If it's musholine, chunk it, sear the chunks and braise it for a couple hours with peppers, onions, adobo, white wine and chicken broth. "Depend not on fortune, but on conduct." Finster
It turned out ok. It was sealed well, so I guess that kept the freezer burn away. I was afraid it might not be safe to eat being as old as it was. Didn't have that bad pork smell to it when it thawed, so I gave it a try. Cooked it in the crock pot with apple cider vinegar and salt & pepper. Not the best I've ever had, but it was not bad.
Sandflee
Pork Shoulder use some applewood smoked rub (McCormick) sliced onion and a can of gingerale drain liquid, pull apart, add bbq sauce, kaiser roll and cole slaw... YUMmmmm If you try to change it, you will ruin it. Try to hold it, and you will lose it. Lao Tzu, Tao Te Ching
