luckyOC
As always, this is the place for your reports... as little or as much detail as you care to share, with hopefully a good bit less focus posted on exact spots, times, and locations. Any and all word from the local waters welcome here, and "no fish" reports are welcome as well; always good to have gotten out there at least, wasn't it? surfnuts
Ahhh, December. Maybe a few of those striped ones migrating off the coast will detour close to the beach, or not.
SBor02
I put in about 2 hours during outgoing tonight on the north side by the CG station at IRI. Fished mostly bucktails and swim shads. No takers. Only 2 shorts this fall, but I am happy to get out.

T.C.
My buddy Paul and I are thinking of making the trek down Fri and fishing until Sat. It's a tough decision. (*member formerly known as 'tcmrgk')

linesiderdemdnj
Fished in Ocean County in Jersey the past two days. Tuesday night through this morning around 10. Tuesday night was a bit rough but the water looked amazing, very nice whitewater but my SP minnow was a bit hard to retrieve properly. Wednesday morning at 6am high tide the water seemed rougher despite SW wind, big rollers that subsided slightly during the day. Fished clams for the outgoing while plugging a bit. Walked to one of my honey hole stretches while the bait rod was out and picked two out within a couple casts of each other around 130-2 PM a 20in and 26in on bone SP. Started raining a bit hard and wanted to put the bait rod away and reeled in a small skate on clams that was sitting out for over an hour that had my line way left and in the wash (haha). Went back out around 4 for top of incoming and picked another 20-24 inches out in the same honey hole stretch of mine with my bone SP again. At nightfall I switched between my 16a black bomber and blurple SP with nothing to show for them. The moon eventually came out strong and put on chicken scratch SP and didn't have another tap on any of those lures until one of my lasts casts of the night around 10pm with chicken scratch SP after walking maybe 2.5 miles of beach since 4pm. Exhausting. Water conditions still were great all night however with great whitewater but west wind began halfway into the night. Gave it a go this morning at 5am and the water was very high and DEAD calm. No whitewater at all, prob because of how high the tide was. Only one hit that I fought for a couple seconds and I dropped it, literally in the same general area I had a hit the night before on one of my last casts. Right before that I was about to quit, and that was at around 830 and I decided to walk the entire stretch of beach I just fished again. Very tiring and my shoulder is sore from casting. The run seems about over up there. Didn't see any bunker schools or bait in the wash, and all reports were of shorts. Where I caught my fish there was a loon right in the wash diving every few seconds. Must have been something there. Â I was basically hoping I would get lucky, but there seems to be some action starting up in DE. Thinking of hitting it Tuesday or Thursday in Fenwick. Â BTW, is everyone being tight lipped or is there really nothing worthwhile to post?

Haha In all seriousness, at least around OC, I haven't seen many folks out fishing at all, especially since Tog season closed. Can't comment on AI as I haven't been over there since the Drum left Finding quality-sized fish (28"+) from shore has been downright near impossible for me at least. I've caught 1 32" in a over a month of fishing. Released. There have been a few shorts around but it's taking alot of time to find them. Some days I've got a few, most days I've caught zilch!! Nothing to write home about for sure. I just try to enjoy the time out and maybe get lucky with a hookup since the catching has been meh... Here's a pic of a shortie I caught on a red/yellow Z-man grub teaser. It's one of the few pics I've taken of the elusive Delmarva Striped Bass. course, if I had to trade stripers for a drum season like we just had then SIGN ME UP!!! linesiderdemdnj
Sweet on lures too! That is awesome. I went to 3rs on Black Friday to try for stripers, ended up with skates, but didn't see much structure. Last year around this time I remember north ocean city having some good looking water with what looked like some cuts. Next week I'm going to try some plugs and lures for sure. Â Great catch
