iphish
My wife an I are having a rather " active" discussion and disagreement. We all know that the typical butter ball turkeys are fattened, fed constanly etc etc. The question that came was how much do wild turkeys typically weigh? Specifically the turkeys in our back yard, the bodies look a liitle larger than footballs. My argument is that there is a lot of feathers on these birds, therefore making them larger than they appear, I am guessing that the ones below weight about 5-8 lbs body weight, she thinks their more like 15-20 lbs Any of you turkey hunters know who's correct? ChumSlickJon
Only one way to find out what those turkeys weigh. But if you think wild turkey's don't get big you're wrong. Friend of mine got a 28 pounder a few years back. I don't waste my time hunting turkey's, they give them away for free at the grocery store.
