This year was a bonito first for me as they were so available at certain shore UDL. I enjoyed them immensely!

If you're referring to the vineyard there was nothing UDL about it. Everyone on this rock knew where to get bones, it was just a matter of keeping the albies off your line. I only managed one small bone during derby but did get a few after of much nicer size, up to 8lbs.

You and I probably crossed paths several times and didn't know it.

A Vineyard restaurant featured fresh-caught bonito on their menu yesterday, November 21, caught by Johnny Hoy, well-known Island musician and angler. Bonito in catchable numbers in late November? This has to be a first.

It's possible last Monday I was out hauling my gear south of Nomans and came across a pile of bones or Albies. Didn't pay to much attention to them since I didn't have a rod with me. The water temp was 58
Y'all know me. Know how I earn a livin'. I'll catch this bird for you, but it ain't gonna be easy. Bad fish. Not like going down the pond chasin' bluegills and tommycods.
