I started doing this exercise just after Christmas of last year because of the threats I kept getting in the Tavern. Now that the Tavern has a new bouncer to keep the pease I know longer knead to keep in shape.

Begin by standing on a comfortable surface, where you have plenty of room at each side.

With a 5-lb potato bag in each hand, extend your arms straight out from your sides and hold them there as long as you can. Try to reach a full minute, and then relax.

Each day you'll find that you can hold this position for just a bit longer.

After a couple of weeks, move up to 10-lb potato bags.

Then try 50-lb potato bags and then eventually try to get to where you can lift a 100-lb potato bag in each hand and hold your arms straight for more than a full minute. (I'm at this level.)

After you feel confident at that level, put one potato in each of the bags.

45 minutes 5 times a week on the track at work for the past 25 years, before that it was running on the road. Gave up running due to the pounding on the knees about 20 years ago and now do the power walking thing.

Never did much weight training other than lifting big fish over the rail. :D

pushups, pull ups, start doing some handstands by balancing your self on a wall then start doing handstand pushups. start low rep till you build up strength. when you get there do these exercises till you get tired at pull rep for 4 to 5 sets 3x a week. as for cardio thats where you wife or gf comes in. if your finishing within 5 min you already know you dont have the stamina. :waiting2: get the drift? walking the surf alone if already good leg exercise but running... yeah!

Been exercising regularly for 40 years. Used to push through injury and illness to train but that's not possible or wise anymore. Now I train smart. I pick my days to train hard and I've learned that days off to rest are just about as important as training days. I'm still a little softer and lumpier than I would like to be but am not a dieting fanatic and it's more important to me that I fit into my clothes comfortably than to have a ripped beach body. Oh, and a bout of skin cancer a few years back keeps me off the beach anyway. With aging comes limitations but it doesn't mean you can't be really fit and strong. My cartilage free Knees don't let me run more than a few times a week now whereas 20 years ago a daily 10 mile run was my minimum. And now all of my running is really a slow shuffle but it makes me feel better that I'm still doing it 40 years after I first started. I know Things will still go wrong for me physically and that I'm going to be in a pine box someday but exercise definately allows me to live better while I'm here.
