LBIJeeper
Hi all, My wife and I are looking to go on a last second fishing vacation this winter (week between xmas and new years). I am cursed to be a devoted angler who gets deadly seasick. Due to this, we have learned to love surf fishing or kayak fishing. We're looking for a warm destination where you can fish from the beach or from kayak or where we could drive from beach to beach to fish. We've done every part of FL so we'd like to try somewhere new. We'd bring our rods and tackle, all we need is water. Any great destinations you would recommend? Thanks, Matt

Beastly Backlash
The Grand Bahamas are excellent. Fishing from shore is free. Shore fishing at any Caribbean island is free.

johndtuttle
Been to Baja, Southern Mexico on the Pacific side and Caribbean side, Belize, Guatemala, and all countries south to Panama. If I was going Kayak fishing I wouldn't go south of Baja due to saltwater crocs in varying concentrations. East Cape of Baja is a perfect destination. Hotel Buena Vista, Rancho Leonero etc. Be advised that you are planning to go peak season in most places south of the border.
LBIJeeper
Thanks guys. Out of all these destinations, is one significantly cheaper than the others? Most Bahamas trips are way pricey right? Cy

It is simply one of the fishiest places on earth! Can't imagine a place with a heavier concentration of fish than the East Cape. You will not be dissapointed, I promise! East Cape easily done for $500 a day.
Highlander1
OBX an 8 hour ride and if there are any stripers left, its a good place to find them. Cheap lodging also. Titanup
You cant complain about the Florida Keys. Marathon, Islamorada, Key West, and many others. The best part, other then the fishing, is the fact that you are still in the United States so you are safe. It is also more work to travel out of the country. It is also nice not having to worry about poor drinking water and food poisoning as much. Bahamas are also a great fishing destination with plenty of other activities. Cayman Islands are beautiful, clean, and the home of Guy Harvey. maybe just visit them all.
