NightTide
Im looking for a new surf bag and came across Gear Up Bags they look good but i couldnt really find any reviews. I wanted a bag that could last 2-3 and i think this one will. If you have one it would be great if you could leave a review and picture if possible so i could see the condition. Thanks

PCstriper
I don't know if this guy is serious or not . 12 years old looking for a rod recommendation to go with his VS, looking at mak and gear up bags going out wetsuiting ? Something doesn't sound right to me . I have nothing against anyone buying whatever they want , but at 12 it seems strange to me , hope I'm wrong and this kid is just a serious fisherman , not someone f'ing with people . GSblank
Nighttide... good for you forget what the rest of them say. most of them are washed up old guys anyway. I was your age if not younger when I got my first VS and swimming out to rocks a few years later that older guys wouldn't dare to go. Also lucky to have someone to take me fishing at that age. As far as the bag goes I would recommend that you get a 2 tube bag gearup or another high end bag with good drainage and shoulder strap to take a lot of the weight of your back. Then maybe a small pouch for a few snakes. remember if your not getting knocked off your not having a good time, be safe and goodluck out there. DarterMan
There was a guy Andrew on here a few years ago. I think he was relatively young. Maybe not 12, but in his very early teens. In any case, he also had extremely poor grammar and spelling. What I'm trying to say is maybe these "young kids" should put a little more emphasis on getting an education and learning how to spell and compose a legible sentence, instead of hanging around a surfcasting website? While I'm at it, where are this kid's parents?

cptjack
as far as the older guys go true I would rather be washed up than drown, so maybe a wet suit is advised , need a new size every year still growing at that age ,so what happens when he finds a bouts girls LIBBA1922
PCstriper
NightTide, I don't mean to offend you if you really are a kid . I don't think I would allow my 12 year old to go out "skishing", I think at that age you would be better off learning the beach and everything you can about fishing ,after your school work is done . With that being said I wish you luck and be careful out there . (*member formerly known as 'PCSilverstriper')
audio1fx
I do not understand why 5 out of 6 responders to this thread are being SCUMBAGS to this kid!!! treblemaker is the only one who gave a real answer! All 5 of you are real pieces of ****! What did he do to offend you? Many moderators and the owner of this site has made it very clear if you do not have productive information regarding the question asked then stay the **** out of the thread! If Tim has no issue with a 12 year old asking questions why do you idiots! now as to the original question - yes the 3- tube gear up will serve you well for a few years and maybe more. I prefer ebbpoint or commando that you can find on the bst forum and C & R surfcasting - Vinnie for custom made bags and acc.at really good prices & top notch work that you will hand down to your kid someday. if you are wet suiting already please be careful and properly outfitted. there are a couple good sites to guide you in the right direction. Paul M. from mtk has his own site and DJ Miller from jersey has a good section on his web site on wet suiting - both lead you in good direction with proper gear. good luck and ask questions when you need to - that's what this site is supposed to be for. I wasn't being a scumbag to the kid I was being a scumbag to the guy that was an a$$ to nighttide for asking a question. I did try to help him out by advising him to get a 2tube instead of the 3 because at his age it would make it a lot easier on him if he needs to get back onto a rock and to get a shoulder strap with the bag to get some of the weight of of his back. I'll give him some more advice always go out with a friend or family member until you really learn the area that your fishing very very well!! And never go past your comfort zone. Be safe and have fun out there.
