So, along with a few other builds im having done for me (im not a builder but figured this would be the best forum to ask this question) im building a tuna jigging rod that i want to theme and pay tribute to my favorite villain of all time --- the joker. More specifically the heathe ledger version. Me and my builder have laid out all the build specs and picked out colors and graphics for the blank and am even having the frame of my talica reel refinished by a custom chopper shop in my area. Now, ive decided i want a graphic on my foregrip but dont know who does stuff like that. Ive seen them before but cant find anything on google or in the forums here about it. I know nothing about the process but i know it can be done. I would assume it requires some computer stuff to print out a decal? Maybe im wrong, regardless... Anyone know who i could go to to have a graphic like one of the pics below put onto a purple foregrip that would be 8-10 inches long? Foregrip material isnt a major factor yet until i learn my options. Thanks guys.1821107

If you want a photograph quality image, it will have to be done with a decal on a hard grip. I can have that made by someone who does incredible work. If you want a cartoonish image without fine details in EVA foam, I can do that. I charge $30/hour, so the more detail, the more time it takes. I'm going to guess the detail in this grip took me abotu 20 hours. I try to keep the grips inlays I make $150, so I usually take the image someone wants and tweak it so I can do it in a reasonable amount of time. I am a lot better making these now than 5 years ago when I made this Jester

I'm not saying it will be 100% identical to the pic on the left, but just to give you an idea of somethign that would be possible. Even this is a LOT of detail/ The hair is going to be solid, except a few curls here and there. There is no shading apable at all, so the eyes will be different. Keep in mind the area you have to work with for this is going to be 2.5" x 4", I could probably stretch this out to 5 or 6" for you, but teh 2/5" width cannot change due to the diameter of the finished grip (1 1/4") I'm going to guestimate that the image would take anywhere from 6-10 hours to make. If you need to see examples of othe rgrips I have made, they are all over the Decorative Grips post here on SOL, on my website, and on my Facebook & The NERBs Facebook page. http://www.stripersonline.com/t/783273/decorative-grips-photos/525

If you decide to go this route let me know and we'll discuss specifics. I'm going ot ask for a non-refundable deposit and leeway that I will give you a exact price after I am done and know how long it took me. I'm not going ot screw you like a car mechanic and give you a ridiculous price when it's done, but I dont' want to short change myself either.

Hey billy.

I am looking for a photography quality image for this part, itd be like 4-5" long center-piece between the reel seat and foregrip. So if you could pm me on the info on who to talk to for that i would appreciate it.

However, for the rear grip.. Id be very interested in one of your inlays and have an idea already of what id want. Cool if i draw out the idea and email it to you? P.S im the guy who was just inquiring about the rod build but decided to work on it with my friend. We're kind of making it a joint effort.

Oh Ok!! lol. The guy I know is in Minnesota, his name is Chad Huderle. If you're on FB I can put you in touch, I dont know his e-mail off the top of my head. Here's one sample of his work, he can only do this on a hard grip like wood or a carbon handle so it moght not be the best choice for a foregrip.

Yea, thats why i was thinking of having it as a small piece after the seat but before the foregrip.. The only reason i dont want it on the rear grip is because itd be such a center piece of the rod and wouldnt want the rod holder ruining the finish. But yes i am on facebook if you could PM me his info. And i will email you later tonight with my idea for the butt grip. Definitelt going to have a very comic book feel to it. Thats what im aiming for anyway
