Looking for a new plugging reel for the surf. My biggest concern is weight and durability. Currently using Penn fierce 5000, weighing at 19oz. Killing my arms. Wanna hear from the guys using 4500 spinfisher v's, quantum cabos pt50, and fin nor lethal 40 users or any other reel that packs a punch for its size.

im using a penn battle 4000. doubt it has 25lbs of drag though. whatever it has is enough for the beach plugging i do in monmoth and ocean county. i have taken fish up to about 20lbs on it.

it has just under 300yds of 30lb whiplash which is a tad thinner than PP.

Using fierce 5000 is killing your arms?? I will bet its the whole setup not just the reel.

^^ what he said, Penn battle 4000 is a work horse but definitely needs proper care after each outing. I only use it for fluking and plugging for snapper blues during summer and it's great.. Again only an advise.

Btw 25lbs of drag is lot to ask for.

The reel doesn't have to have 25lbs of drag. I'm just really comparing everything to the spinfisher v 4500. I figure it has 25lbs of drag around 15oz and hold 300 yards of 30pp. I figured that was the standard for what I was looking for and in a solid price range.

The fin-nor lethal looks righteous. I wish they had a 50 size just to have a little more line capacity on there. Let me know how it feels on you 9'er when you give it a try.  I live in monmouth county and the lethal is backordered beyond belief.  If anyone knows where I can check it out in person that would be much appreciated.
