I've been catching most of my fish this fall on epoxy sand eels I got here from Buzfly. He has his own site now. I use dropper loops in 50 pound Ande leader material and never had one fail. Just inspect the end of the loop at the hook eye frequently. The pic is of one of the teasers in "schoolbus".

Oh, and it's on a 2/0 hook.

What kind of lures are you guys throwing teasers with? Diamond jigs.. Bottle plugs.. Bucktails.. Can I throw them with anything?

Anything. I've even used an Ava27 at night when I had a 20MPH wind in my face and it was the only thing I could cast 50 yds. Caught on the teaser.

I've used them with SP Minnows and Bombers, darters and bottles, SS Little Neck Poppers, tins, etc

Only can tell you what I do, and im only a beginner.

teasers on everything at night.

As soon as sun comes up i change leader with no dropped loop to use pencils.

only because im scared all the tension using pencil might break off at the dropper loop.

Never fished with teasers before. Going to give it a shot. How far up the leader from the lure should I tie the teaser?

I start with a 52" length of 50lb test Ande leader material. I try to center the loop 9-10" from one end. After the knot is tightened, I trim the short end to 9" from the center of the knot and the long end 27". After the improved clinches for the snap and swivel, I end up with a 33" leader, with the dropper loop 7-8" from the swivel and two feet in front of the snap. With a 3" loop and 4-5" teaser, the lure ends up about 18" behind the teaser. I've found this to be a nice distance.

I have to try the dropper loop. Tying to the same barrel swivel as my leader has been a disaster on tangles. I know the teasers catch even though the small amount of time I've used them I haven't.

Rather than tie direct to the barrel which I agree causes tangles try tying a loop such as the perfection loop at the teaser end and then thread it thru the lower barrel eye and when pulled tight you'll find it holds away from the main line causing less tangles.

This is how I tie my teaser.

I use Alberto knot to connect my braid with the leader. When tying the Alberto knot, I don't cut the other end, instead tie a teaser to it. I have attached a picture for reference. This technique has worked for me without failure so far....
