jerseycat9
Same rules as always: Report as little or as much as you wish but no "spot burning" for private freshwater areas that have limited access. I do not think it is a problem posting a report naming lakes like Round Valley, Lake Hopatcong or any of the other large lakes that can accommodate large groups of fishermen. But, once again, giving specific locations in those lakes is considered spot burning. If there is something reported that you do not agree with or consider a spot burn, report the post. Do not further burn the spot by quoting a spot burn. The theme will be learning how to catch fish, not where to fish. My name is Terry and I am a fisherman! EricJ
I saw some posts about the Manasquan Reservoir. I have fished there a few times over the past 6 weeks. Have done just OK. My last time out was the best. Caught 5 LMB and 2 Pickerel in about 3 hours. I know it will get better when the water warms up a bit. This little note.... I had to peddle my PA back to the dock so I could pee (about 8am). As I got near the ramp, I caught a HUGE splash off to my right. Roughly 30 yards away. Seemed like it was large enough to be a Musky...or the largest bass in the reservoir. Slowly went over there and threw every top water lure that I had.....nothing. Really looking for another place to fish within a half hour of Freehold. If anyone would like to share, please send me a PM. You are just a dirty, smelly fisherman. If a hot girl is making eye contact with you, she is probably a hooker.
GeoffT
6:45 - 11 this morning. Cloudy, pleasantly cool with some breeze from the east. 12 larrys to 5 lbs and 5 pickerels to 22". Dropped at least 2 others. Small pickerels whacking away at the chatterbait all morning. The humpbacked 5 pounder came on the second cast of the day, not far from where the 6 pounder was caught Sunday. Again with the RI beaver tipped chatterbait. Then a little while later got a 3 pounder hiding under the last remaining swim docks near the dam before they were removed two hours later. It's been one heckuva year with the chatterbait. I've never caught so many 4+ pounders in one year. 3 pounder
Plug Em All
Went up to the south branch of the Raritan river and caught two SM bass & a brown trout. Smallies were on chatter baits ( No trailer ) and the trout was landed on a spinner bait. Plus the weather there was terrific. Gonna take another trip pretty soon! howied
Busy week of exams but was able to hit a local pond today. Landed a bass on live sunny. Saw many attempts where each rod was being chased by bass but they couldn't grab it. No hits on lures.

GeoffT
Great catch, piney! Fished 11:30-2:30 last night as it's wedding (my daughter's) weekend and to get ahead of the cold front. Very active when I hit the right spots. At least a dozen bass, nothing big. Dropped as many if not more. Numerous whacks and thumps all night. I had a monster fish on for 30 seconds but it never surfaced despite my best efforts before it came off. Would have loved to see what it was. But it definitely wasn't a channel cat. Could have been a huge pick or walleye, I dunno.

Pretty cool I was surprised with the Pickerel you got at night. Done a lot of night fishing never caught one. All in all the shows were pretty entertaining
