cashews121
I found out something by accident that may be of interest to many here. I had some Gulp Swimming Mullets in a plastic container from the Chinese take out..with the Juice of course.. Anyway, when I got back to my truck from fishing one day,I decided hey,why not drop the bucktail in the container with the rest of the Gulp, and leave it there till next time? I figured the hairs will suck up the scent etc.. Anyway,,I got busy during the summer and didn`t have much time to fish..so its been in the container for a month. I had plans to go out and do some fishing this past Saturday, so I went to get the container. The moment I saw the container, I knew something was very wrong. The Gulp juice was brown... I fished out the Spro bucktail and the hook was completely dissolved.. I grabbed the lead head part, and the mullet and hook just separated at mid shank! The other Blue Frog Bucktail was in better shape, but also weakened, and black, and just a mess,,the hook point was just about gone! I have heard that Gulp Mullets and Shrimp Etc,.,.were BIO DEGRADABLE..but this liquid its in..Wow! I don`t know if I want to put my hand in that container anymore to fish out a new one to fish with ! I BE SCARED ! LOL
mofish
I think the juice has some kind of acid or citrus acid in it. I did the same thing you did but I left it in the tub over 7 months. There was no hook left on the bucktail and the thread on the bucktail itself was half gone. it also ate threw some of the powdered coat paint on the bucktail. DPM87
Wow! Good to know. I wonder what those containers are made out of to keep the "magic juice" from eating a hole through them.
cashews121
The plastic container was fine, but the hook was history.
Gatr522
Just the bait itself will destroy a hook in a day or two. Discovered a few times when I fell asleep after driving home and didn't clean up until the next day. Tip- powder coat the straight part of the hook shaft for the eels and when you use it as a teaser. Good for overnight. Any longer then that and it starts to oxidize.

Slacker
That juice always makes my hands itch. I have to wash the stuff off almost immediately.
