week one tough opponent. We'll see if Eli can carry a team single handedly given that no other area of the Giants is playing well.

Appears his WR ran the wrong route in his interception. But of course, Eli took the blame. Can you imagine the stats he's have is he has receives who can catch the ball?

yup,

just look at his first decade in the league,

he was blessed to be on one of the best teams during that period,

and put up mediocre numbers.

lucky for him his defense won some Super Bowls and he was awarded the MVP for their efforts.

you keep saying that, but I keep pointing out he's had a revolving door of WR and running backs. If you think a team helps pad a QBs stats, then wouldn't in make sense to point out the WRs ad running backs that have surrounded the other QBs of his peers? He doesn't throw passes to the defensive line.

and?!!?

Running backs don't last long these days,

judge them by production when they played and not on the length of their career.

he had good receivers too.

the biggest attribute the Giants had was an A+ offensive line that stayed in tact and healthy for years,

and stability at head coach.

Eli was blessed with having a LOOONG time to stand in the pocket and wait for a receiver to get open,

and if that didn't work, he'd chuck and duck and there was always a receiver on the squad with a phenomenal catching radius to snag the ducks.

There is a reason why the WR and running backs have been a revolving door. They have underperformed. Giants wins have come from the fourth quarter when Eli has to abandon the game plan and get the job done himself.

If the run game is working, and the defense holding strong, there is no need for fourth quarter heroics.

too funny.

you fan boys will make any and every excuse for him.

So when Eli abandons the game plan,

suddenly the running backs and receivers can perform?

the games come down to the 4th quarter cause Eli throws too many stupid picks,

the fact the games were winnable in the 4th quarter is because the defense was stingy.

The Giants rushing game over the past three years has ranked among the lowest in all of the NFL. Their best year was 2012 at 14. Last years a pathetic 29. And in 2011 they were dead last among the 32 teams.

BTW, last year the Giants defense was one of the worst at 29.

So, according to your logic, eli did a pretty good job winning any games with a team that was one of the worst defensively and rushing last year. It's gotta be the passing games that won those games.

he's declining only because he doesn't have a team to carry him.

Put him on a team with a good offensive line,

and decent skill position players,

and he will put up mediocre numbers like he has his whole career.

He's declining because he's old and recovering. His entire career he has been a high-risk/high-reward QB, which can (and did) pay off big. But when your skills decline and your position players are average at best, it becomes high-risk/high-penalty.

He has been fun to watch (other than the stupid expression) and the NFL will miss having QBs like him.
