So, what exactly my presence there will change?

A bad day of fishing is still better than a good day at the office!

In life people need to fight for what is right , by taking a back seat in life , the view never changes , show up at this hearing with 15 surfcasters and nobody takes it serious enough ,show up with 1000 of us and the politicians  and appointed positions start to get nervous that maybe their next election or job may be lost!  the bottom line is the more organized and prepared you are , and done in numbers things get done!

If my presence will change anything, I will try to do everything to be there.

Only thing I don't understand is how we can affect their decisions?

We are not allowed to vote or speak up or anything.

you are right we cant vote , but if only a few of us show up and tell them how bad it has gotten they say well how bad could it be , but if a huge mob shows up and demands something to be done because we are at a critical state . maybe this problem will be taken more seriously . we don't know in life unless we take a chance and do what is right!

I believe we have a right to speak at any public hearing...

People are building bricks of the country.

On the other hand, they choose presidents for us (I hope no one is THAT naive to believe our votes make any changes), so such a small small thing as a local fishing regulation can be done without us.

But still, you are right. We have to show up. My car is fckd up. ABS pump and sensor, G-sensor, some tranny crap etc. If I be able to fix it before that day, I'll go. It's a long way from NYC, don't wanna risk it with my old a$$ car.

Anyway, is anyone from NYC area coming? If my car won't be fixed by then, I'd love to share a ride and gas with someone...

I 100% agree with you. No pain no gain. Do nothing----expect nothing.

In the spirit of being prepared, what is being promoted,I believe by many fishing organizations is keeping one fish at AT LEAST 32",is that the general consensus? Will a particular size be discussed at the meeting?

Just for explanation and information sake, can anyone explain the science of keeping a fish that size, as opposed to saying only keep one at 40" or any other size for that matter?

Not wishing to be provocative here--but if attending the meeting, it would be intelligent to understand what size fish and how the size was arrived at. The science behind it?

What are the majority of us advocating with regard to the size of the fish and why?

To me it's a no brainer to attend this meeting to show our support. And to show the level of concern that anglers have for the fishery.

This is a public hearing.

The entire purpose of the meeting is so you can share your thoughts on Addendum IV

"I have always believed that outdoor writers who come out against fish and wildlife conservation are in the wrong business. To me, it makes as much sense golf writers coming out against grass.."  --  Ted Williams
