bunker86
Pike in Maine?? Never ever caught one in Maine. They do have some giant pickerel. Find weeds and you'll find fish.

Plug Em All
If there is a patch of weeds in the lake/river that is a great place to fish for northern pike. They hide there and will go after any lure you toss at 'em. Good luck in Maine, catch a monster one!
PDONA
You can always try the forage of choice sold in tackle shops on a bobber. Other than that, I'd toss a "5 of diamonds" 3/4 oz Daredevil, white spinner bait, or fairly large swim baits. Pike ambush from cover so pretty much anywhere you'll look for largemouth, you'll find pike
bassturds
Yea weedlines! I'll bring the big spoons I use for lakers! Some very bright colors!
bassturds
I heard/read that they go deep in summer! Which I thought was weird cuz I thought they just hide in weeds' Like i said! I don't need a big one! Just want a pick 3 feet or 3 lbs don't matter
StickinLips
I Fished the Belgrade lakes for 6 straight years chasing pike, caught a couple of 40"s in our group. First 2 years we threw every lure imaginable until an old timer called us morons and told us to get the biggest shiners we could and put them on slip bobbers. He conveniently had a small bait shop but he was 100% correct they loved big shiners, I'm talking 7-8" shiners we fished right after ice out on Great Pond. As for now there should be some small/medium pike around the weeds if there on points/drop offs but the big ones generally go deeper. If you do go bobber and shiner let them swim for a good 8-10 seconds before you set the hook. Good luck they are a blast to catch
Plug Em All
Another lure you can use for Pike is a large shinny spoon like a Kastmaster or Hopkins for instance, Pike will crush them with force and give you a epic fight. I've caught them on those pieces of metal.

Plug Em All
Yes bring those metal spoons they are great to use for Pike, pickerel, muskie. They just crush them with such power. I caught a 36" northern pike last year on a gator spoon what an epic fight.

Plug Em All
Those are fine for the northern pike. Toss them around and see if they attack 'em good luck.
Skitter
Check Maine F & G website to see if they have a map you can print out for the lake. Submerged weed beds and deeper channels are good places to explore but hard to find & see fishing from shore. Good luck' (*member formerly known as 'Skitterpop')
