miscougars89
Did not see this made yet so I will start one. Same rules as always: Report as little or as much as you wish but no "spot burning" for private freshwater areas that have limited access. I do not think it is a problem posting a report naming lakes like Round Valley, Lake Hopatcong or any of the other large lakes that can accommodate large groups of fishermen. But, once again, giving specific locations in those lakes is considered spot burning. If there is something reported that you do not agree with or consider a spot burn, report the post. Do not further burn the spot by quoting a spot burn. The theme will be learning how to catch fish, not where to fish.
miscougars89
To start it off I hit the lake today from 6 am to 1030 and had a spectacular morning. I caught 3 largemouth between 2.5 lbs and 3 lbs on a strike king watermelon tube. I then threw a swimbait around at a school of sunfish I saw and hooked a 3 lb pickeral underneath them. Poor thing fought so hard and after a full ten minutes of attempting to revitalize him, I gave up and he passed on. I then threw around the spinnerbait and got a 3 lb largemouth to hit. I finished the day as the sun came up and warmed up the water with a 2.5 lb largemouth on a 7 in rubber worm. Overall great day!

Plug Em All
Went fishing today at the stream I've been going to for the past few years. I caught one LM bass 3 lb.s on a plastic frog, and also got a nice yellow perch on night crawlers. Best part about the whole trip. No one else was there
KidDkivahh
You boys are hitting them pretty good . Great reports to bad about the Pickerel miscougar not easy having a fish succumb that was planned on being released. That's the tough part about fishing the Summer months high water temps and fish that don't like to give up some times end badly for the fish. GeoffT
Fun morning 6:30-10. Steady rain for the most part but I love fishing in the rain. And the fish cooperated once I found the schools. 2nd cast, a monster pickerel rocketed from the bottom to engulf the chatterbait as I was about to lift it out of the water to cast it out again, making me jump out of my seat a little. Took awhile to revive him, about 15 minutes but finally seemed ok. 15 largies to 2.5 lbs, all keepers. Lost as many plus numerous hits and whacks. Also one other smaller pickerel. Another one cut the line. And had another monster pickerel pull the rod tip deep into the water before the chatterbait came unbuttoned. Never saw it but I could tell what it was and the size from the headshakes, the fact it hugged the bottom, and its pulling power. So much for the summer doldrums. Plug Em All
Took a ride to the lake early this afternoon and gave it a go. I caught a decent size yellow perch around 2 lbs & also landed a small pickerel, both were on a small crank bait. Threw a spinner bait around as well, but only had two thumps on it. Don't know what fish was around though. Had fun going back out to a different spot later tonight.

KidDkivahh
Got an early start this morning on a small lake near me . Threw the whole bag at them you name it I tossed it . All I managed was a surprise Smallie that nailed a Rapala jerk bait nice fish about 2lbs . First smallie ever from this lake didn't even know they had them in there. Still not a bad morning had the lake to myself with the exception of a couple of herons and an Otter fishing near me . Cool to have shared the water with an otter don't see them all to often. GeoffT
This morning 6:00 - 8:30. Not as good action-wise as yesterday but still managed 11 largies - all between 12-14" and all on chatterbait. Nothing photo-worthy but this time brought my GoPro. Make sure to watch in HD full-screen for best effect. No audio. Watch the last bass do a little something extra to conclude the video.
metaliczombi
Hit the water late this morning after deciding to let the walleyes live another week and wanting to chase muskies. I got on the water at 10:30am and camped on a few spots for a couple hours, I got a follow which peeled off right at the boat a half hour before moonrise. At about 3:30pm this fish decided to interrupt my lure washing duties in a violent and sudden fashion. It took me around the boat a few times taking drag and jumping all over the place. Thankfully it had a treble locked tight in the corner of its mouth. Finally got her in the net which is always fun by yourself. Measured in the water ~45". Decided to see if my camera is truly water proof, too bad the water was stained from the storms the past few days.
