Firinne
It's almost here! What surprised me the most last year was the amount of snags and lost rigs. I think I lost 8 or so fluke rigs and the also not expecting to need 6 ounces of lead for the drift. The guys with jigs didn't seem to have as many snags. Also this place is kinda eerie, we were sitting on the boat making our greetings in the early morning and it was clear out. We start heading towards our first drift and I see what I first thought was a large cruise ship heading right at us. You couldn't see the beach thru the fog and all of a sudden this large building suddenly appears out of nowhere. Those stories you read here are true, turns out it was a condo or motel on the beach but you couldn't see the beach. I took Sparky's advise and bought some 6" gulp in various colors, whit, chartreuse and pink. I also got some various weight I also bought some various sized Spor's and various fluke rigs. Not sure if I'm gonna get minnies this year or nit. The one keeper that I did get was on a minnie but guys around me where doing better with jigs, especially Loony's jigs. I may ask him for one this year, they were killer. I'm getting my lead from Jeff at the boat, 5-6 oz weights, so make sure you bring weights that heavy. I'll have to check Tom's list to see who is in so far. Should be a great time and I'm looking forward to seeing everyone.......................Bob "Candide et constanter"

JMB
Why is everyone bringing hatchets? If you use eclairs in your example, he will get it right away. MikeMc

DerrickT
Last year I think it was 30 to 40 feet. We weren't that far off the beach which why everyone was scared of the hotel freighter hitting us.

We'll be off the moon by a week, and most likely fishing between 35-60 feet.
