BranfordJeff
I have a 9' ugly stick I use for snag & drop, and I have a crack in the lower piece at the part that goes into the female part of the upper piece. The crack is right at the bottom of the joint, and extends up about 2 inches toward the tip, and about an inch and a half down toward the butt along the length of the rod, on top. I was thinking of drilling out the top of the lower piece, putting a plug about 3" below where the crack stops and injecting epoxy, making that whole section solid. Yeah, this will just transfer stresses elsewhere, but since this is the second of these rods to do this to me in 5 years, i'm thinking that is the weak spot. Any constructive criticism towards my intended approach at a repair?

ChumSlickJon
I hope you custom wrapped that ugly stick. Cause you know, it feels so much better to catch something on a rod you wrapped yourself. Delete from SOL_Users where username like 'wasy','Seal'.... I like the stick. I can chuck my 10/0 snaggers as far with it as my buddies can chuck anything with their fancy rods. I like being the first one into a passing school nobody else can reach. When you catch something, I bet you don't feel as good about yourself though. Delete from SOL_Users where username like 'wasy','Seal'....
