Okie Angler
Having problems with braid Want to continue using it Notice seems most of you use braid from companies I never hear of I have heard of Power Pro Thanks for any help okie
baldwin
Not really braid, since it's fused. Try Fireline. Strong, casts well, sensitive enough to feel exactly how your plug is working, relatively abrasion-resistant. I've used it since it came out, even after trying many others. Lots of other great fishermen agree. Give it a shot.
mumichog
If you want a trouble free braid try Tuf-line XP, handles great on spinning reels, much better than PP does. Not expensive as braids go and lasts a long time. Very small diameter, casts great. Seaguar Kanzen is pricey but excellent. Sufix 832 is very good also
Scallywag
If you use the search function, youll see most of the guys one here prefer Suffix 832. Myself included

TLap21
I've used: Daiwa Samurai Power Pro Power Pro Super Slick Sufix 832 Sufix Performance Spiderwire Invisibraid I've never really had problems with any of them to be honest. What kind of problems are you having? My first guess is that you're not closing the bail manually, that seems to eliminate most of the problems people have with braid. 832 and Invisi-Braid are the two I enjoyed the most with Super Slick being third. If I had to pick just one I'd go Invisi-Braid. I haven't noticed much (if any) difference between that and the 832 and it's less than half the price. If memory serves the breaking strength (in 20lb test) is higher than 832 as well.

Plug Em All
Have power pro ranked as #1 But Sufix 832 braid is a very close second. I use both of those lines for Salt & freshwater. Love them a lot.
flytyingguy1
Yes what seems to be the problem? It may not be the braid,it may be you doing something wrong. Are we talking wind knots? Brake offs?
fishinambition
It's almost never the braid
lennycas96
I use Power Pro. Power pro is what all the tackle shops stock. Their is braid from fireline, Calcutta and suffix also.

Brake offs? okie's problems when using braid 1. difficulty tying good knot joining leader had 3 break off with small tugs hung up, barely began pulling 2. broke 10 lb braid on open stretch of line, no knots where it broke 3. tying knots in braid only like tie direct to lure, tie to swivel 4. back lashes mia culpa thanks to all okie

Scallywag
Okie, what kind of knots are you using? I had some issues with knots a while back so I switched to a Palomar knot for tying to a swivel. If I'm tying to mono, I use an Alberto knot. Have not had either slip since. As far as breakage issues, I've never had any line break for no reason. I've used PP, 832 and cheap Berkeley braid. Never a mid line break.
