Scotty
got an email about a good weather window from Phil L and decided to play hooky. Boat left Cape May a bit after 530 and we hit one of the southern canyons at about 8 (fast boat) and very comfortable on the bean bag chairs! Fishing was very good for the first few hours,. mixed large golden tiles and some "citation" bluerunners. We later tried various depths and fished hard; three of us (Bruce aka Spook, Mike (regular) and I) on manual reels and Josh on a Daiwa electric; Josh had many of the bigger Goldens, but Spook had the largest. I finished the day on one of Phil's electrics - but the fishing was pretty much shut down by then. All in all, great day; 40+ in the box for the crew and maybe 2 or 3 doggies. Great day with some good fishermen... Riff Raff

Scotty
I guess most game fish tastes good as sashimi "fresh off the bone", but those tiles were sooooo good! I'm thinking yellowtail, but with a more delicate flavor Riff Raff

sefmonster
With the right conditions you can go that low.I could only wish I was able to go that low when I did my trips where I started at 2lb.and had eventually had to go to 5lb.With that much lead you have so much scope out you can barely feel the sinker. At that point the rod goes into the rod holder.
