You talking weekend or midweek? Scusset has tent sites available midweek but nothing on the weekend. Bourne Scenic would be a good bet. Those are the 2 campgrounds that are on the canal and you can bike right from your site to the service road.

Shawme Crowell is close by in Sandwich but it's not right on the canal. You'd probably want to drive your car and park somewhere to fish when camping there. But there's lots of sites and you can almost always get one there.

I'll have mine on the rocks.

Tent sites are currently available at Scusset for both the 12th and 13th. That would be my first choice. Similar prices to Shawme Crowell but the canal is within easy walking distance from your campsite.

You would need to book ahead of time at ReserveAmerica. Make sure you get one of the 5 tent sites. They won't let you stay in the other sites without a self contained RV. Bathrooms are very clean and the showers are great. You can even walk to the beach if you want to.

I looked at the reservation on the site and they request 2 day minimum. I'm just looking to drive down in the evening camp one night wake up early and fish. Might just be better to drive down late evening fish all night to the morning then head back home.

I do that several times a year, and I'm further away than you.

The drive home can be a bitch though.

The drive doesn't bother me. I do it a few a year too. It's getting up at 1 to drive 2.5 hr then fish. Wish on this tide that I woke up at 1 and just fished.

you mean 1.5 hour not 2.5 hour. I can get to the cape in 1hr 50 minutes, and that's going over the bridge. And if your leaving at 1am it should be faster than that, no traffic at all.

The drive there never bothers me because of the anticipation.  But afterwards, especially if it's bright and sunny out, I'll have the radio blaring and the AC cranked up. And still need to pull over and grab a quick catnap sometimes.

Your right if you jump in the car head straight there. I like to stop get a coffee and I don't speed. I would just like to take away a little risk when I'm depriving myself of sleep.
