WTS SMOKAI 1-Litre Cold Smoke Generator

Recommended Posts

WTS my SMOKAI 1-Litre Cold Smoke Generator. Made in New Zealand. Quality machined stainless steel components - great/simple design. I just purchased this last month, paid $180 plus shipping cost from NZ! Rated as the best cold smoke generator on the market. Can use wood pellets, sawdust and/or wood chips. Produces little to no heat in your smoke box while providing an amazing amount of cool white smoke. The included air pump dials in the amount of smoke needed. Burn rate is based on air pump flow and wood type. You can find videos online and research their website to get more information and see them in action.

My intent was to turn my Primo ceramic cooker into a part time cold smoker for jerky, fish, cheese and bacon, but no way to do that unless I drill a hole through the ceramic shell to insert the generator's discharge tube but would still not have any way to fasten/mount the generator to the cooker. I decided it is definitely not worth the possibility of damaging the cooker by drilling a hole through ceramic shell. I tried the generator last weekend in the open and it worked great, discharged lots of smoke (like the old mosquito control trucks when we were kids). The Smokai will work/attach to any other style of gas or charcoal grill using existing rotisserie mount or you can drill a hole through the grill's steel housing. Will also work for home made smoke boxes, smoke houses, etc.. I'll also include a great book "Meat Smoking and Smokehouse Design" covering everything on cold smoking and curing and building your own smoke boxes.

Would like to get $129 for it shipped (lower 48). I'll cover the Paypal also. Check out the youtubes on it and their website!

Hey ricker - I tried using heat resistant silicon tubing attached to the generator's outlet and connected to an adapter attached to the Primo's bottom draft door opening - ended up causing what they call a chimney effect - produced pitch which coated the pellets and smothered the fire. All of these units including other brands are made to be directly attached to the grill/smoke box with its outlet inside the smoke box/grill. I just have the wrong cooker to use it with....................

Danno - the generator would attach to your weber where the rotisserie attachment would go. The Smokai comes with the bracket that allows you to attach to your grill. The weber becomes a cold smoke grill or you can even use it to smoke whatever you are cooking also.
