YakkinLI
I have a pro angler 12 and I absolutely love it. It's the only hobie I've owned and really fished from. It definitely is not for everyone, it's very heavy. I am lucky enough to just have to roll it across the street and launch from a neoghbor's beach. I doubt i would have went with the PA if I had to transport it. I love it tho, the vantage seat is so comfortable. It's very stable, I had no problem standing and fishing last year in the state channel on the 4th of July with boats passing frequently.
MVDCGTO
Only way you'll know if it's worth it is if you try one out. The PA is HEAVY!! My malibu is heavy to me and the PA is much much heavier. The thought of car topping one makes my back hurt. Island livin
Onelastcast
If your not to big for the outback, are not willing to buy a trailer to transport it, are not willing drag all that weight in the sand and don't care to see a chiropractor periodically etc etc  Then I recommend you don't, you will most likely end up going back to it.  Good luck with your decision,  OLC Active Member: Kayak Fishing Association of New York

It's got some nice features but a laundry list of drawbacks Island livin
Fishbuddy
Being a new PA owner, it is great on the water. But it sure is a workout to move, spent a day just trying to figure that out. I knew this getting into it, i live just up the street from the beach, and use a pickup to move it, (just slide it in the back). Could walk it there if I had to, but i am not that ambitious. Getting to use it a few times, I know I would not go this way if i had to get it on top of a car or SUV to use it.
Glen Ridge Linesider
I have a PA 14 it is heavy but not difficult to slide in and out of a pick up truck. When I look for a launch spot I try to find something with out a huge incline or a real long walk that being said once you get it rolling it's not that bad. I also do't load it down with a lot of stuff. It's so large you want to take everything with you. every ounce makes a difference. Once I'm on the water with it I feel great, I have a nice high seat I stay very dry and can move around. Most of my fishing is done in the bay and rivers, there are some good places to launch from. 706On-a-Stick
The pro angler seems like such a "boat" to me. Especially when it comes to the sound where you will be fishing primarily back bays, and even when you venture into open water, the waves are nothing like ocean waves. The outback seems like the perfect platform, unless you plan on only launching 50 feet from your car at all times. How does the pro angler handle bumping off boulders anyway? Onelastcast
Most guys I fish with go down from the PA to the Outback, not the other way around. I am not knocking the PA, great fishing platform. But then again so is the Outback and it's easier to handle in all aspects. mike3dr
I think the PA is more stable.
Onelastcast
I think the PA is more stable. Â That's a given! Put a motor on it and you got a Jon boat. Active Member: Kayak Fishing Association of New York
KJV0480
Question for all the PA haters...did any of you guys put any actual seat time in one? Or just basing your obviously biased opinions on internet hearsay and word of mouth?
DaveCap
Why would one need to sit in a PA to know it's heavy and cumbersome to transport. I don't think anyone "hates" the PA, rather they stated the obvious. Most of us have tried many different boats. We know from experience what ought to be considered. Ease of use is one of them for many. It really is just stating the obvious. But to beginners, not everything is always obvious.

Or just basing your obviously biased opinions on internet hearsay and word of mouth? Â Whose hating. Â Other than stating the obvious, please show me the hating/bias you are speaking off. Â The PA is a great boat especially for those heavier than average that want to kayak fish. Â Like other kayaks the PA has it's advantages and disadvantages. One disadvantage of the PA is weight. Would you agree or disagree? Â Just by looking at it you can tell it's gonna weigh a ton. Only a blind man wouldn't know that because he couldn't see the boat. But if he picked it up I'm sure he would agree. Active Member: Kayak Fishing Association of New York
mike3dr
If weight was not an issue, Â I like the PA better as a fishing platform.
