the_tin_squid
The bow, the spots ahead of the superstructure are preferred, anywhere ahead of the windlass is better, a pulpit spot is primo. I like to fish up-current and reel back when the jig or bait is back under my feet so I gravitate to where there's room to underhand cast.

Brooks1176
bow/pulpit, usually a lot less headaches.
Slacker
TFisher is going to get wood when he sees this thread. Â For the purposes of this thread, I believe that would be referred to as "trouser pulpit".
foxfai
I would like to hear other's opinion also. When I fish in the middle, people from the back catches big fishes. Â But when I am in the stern, the bow seems to catch more and bigger fishes.... Â And when I try to get to the bow, people won't let me in.. Fly By Nite
Generally i prefer the port bow and on the boat i frequent it's around 12-15 pole holders south of the pulpit spot. I find its easy to get around in that spot using the side doors to get in and out of the cabin. Nothing worse than tripping over people and coolers. RnR
It depends on what we are targeting. Fluke for example I like to be in the stern, Tog, (or any species where you are anchored) I believe it's better in the bow, less sway when you are anchored up unless of course it's insanely windy in which case being in the stern with the cabin blocking the wind has it's advantages though those advantages would be more for comfort than for anything else. RnR
I did personally witness PeterO and Billy40 put on a TOGGING CLINIC in the stern of the boat one day. Wishin' I was Fishin'
AxBeetle
I prefer the side somewhere between the middle and the stern corner. I dont fish the bow because I'm either using a 6' 6" rod or a really soft 7' -- the bow is too high up. Classic  .........as we continue on....... jmerc
I prefer the port side toward the bow, just seems to work better for me. used to be a stern fisherman for years and did well there also. a good fisherman will usually catch fish wherever he fishes. what makes a good fisherman? mickrazz
I kinda like the starboard corner just ahead of the port bow. Me and the "Kentucky Kracker" had some really good days in that spot. The Magnificent Presence

Tfisher
Some boats offer good breathing room in the back and when its windy could offer relief - some believe the front sides is where the actions at but its usually tight with no elbow room and gets too cold late in the season. I often fish with my old man and that dude needs "space"... Â For fluke fishing Ive always liked the back but for toggin, I've caught them all areas - key is to beat Michael Corrleon & his henchman to the boat: I'm fine right there. Also now that Spig has gone surf" will definitely open up a spot and allow 10 minute snooze Professional Novice
