codfish
Well another year of fish reports I know my reports from 2013 were at times bleak but honest. Plan on the 3 sevens for 2014 7inch sluggo,7 inch spook and 7 inch sand eels. and of course bioedge
codfish
First report of 2014 made a cast to say I fished the first week of January 2014, I caught nothing, zero, zilch,no fish, skunk. I don't know if there is another word for caught nothing:confused:
Sea Flat
Thanks for starting the new thread codfish!! I refer back to this thread often during the year for intel. Last year was the first year I tried those Bill Hurley's and I could not keep the fish off of them (even if most of them were dogs). I'll be stocking up on them before heading out this year. I had more success in the Chatham area than in the CCB Ptown area this year. codfish
Thanks sea flat, I know quite a few times last year reports were along the lines of very slow fishing but that said I keep the fluff out of the reports

DJG35
Tell me more about BioEdge?? What do you use it on? How often? Does it stink up your plug bag? Thanks and go Pats, Doug
codfish
"Tell me more about BioEdge?? What do you use it on? How often? Does it stink up your plug bag? Thanks and go Pats," Doug Doug I use Bio-Edge sand eel oil on most of my sluggos, “yes it can smell up a plug bag if it leaks” just place some oil in a zip lock bag now and the oil will soak into the plastic and you should be good to go, they do make it in a wand, I did try it on my spooks but I don’t think it matters much on top water baits, just my two cents and a penny for your thoughts
DJG35
Thanks for the advice. This is my 2nd year hitting the surf and I am amazed by how much I am learning from more experienced surfcasters like yourself. Doug

Whenever I went to Chatham I launched from Bass River. I live in Falmouth so it was an easy drive to get to and it is a great launch. Sea Flat
how long does it take to make it to Chatham from the Bass River?? Roughly a half hour to a little more depending on seas. Not bad. I'm used to fishing the Elizabeth Islands and that always takes some time too. Can't really say Im looking at my watch too much when Im on the water. It is not that bad to the Monomoy area, but if you want to hit Crab Ledge or something like that it really is a haul.
