Obamacare is a turd. - Page 3
This loophole wasn’t lost on some unnamed individuals who queried the Department of Health and Human Services during an open comment period for the new law in 2011.
While officials at HHS did not respond to requests for comment on this story, they did offer a glimpse into their thinking in a March 27, 2012, report contained in the Federal Register.
“HHS will continue to explore options for incentivizing appropriate use of the grace period,” the register said. “HHS will monitor this issue moving forward and will continue to work on the development of policie
From Labor Union Report, you can see the video at the link:
Headed by a former field director of Obama for America, Battleground Texas’ sole aim is to turn Texas from a so-called “red state” to another California–that is, almost singularly controlled by liberal Democrats...
Now, however, a video released by James O’Keefe’s Project Veritas over the last few days has revealed that Battleground Texas may actually be gathering data on ObamaCare enrollees from one of the groups enlisted to enroll ObamaCare enrollees.
According to O’Keefe’s video, Enroll America, a “501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to maximize the number of uninsured Americans who enroll in health coverage made available by the Affordable Care Act” is sharing data with Battleground Texas.
Clarence Landry, an organizer with Enroll America, Texas, is seen on the video talking about working with, and cross-pollinating the same data with Battleground Texas... ...If Battleground Texas is a Democratic political action committee as is stated in the video, why is Enroll America sharing data with them?"
dena, I suppose replying as proxy for Little may be good practice just in case of Little 2016—you may become the WH spokesperson and get to deflect for a president.
I was asked to wrap my arms around his comment. I responded to say how this felt to me, but after further consideration, it feels like a homework assignment that was never collected.
About your questions, they don’t feel to me like they are about Obamacare, at all. I would say the connection is in Obamacare being a subset (or evidence) of big government. I’m not a fan of big government, but neither am I a fool in believing every move made by the government is an evil. I claimed that I’m a centrist (moderate something) but I hope that I’m a liberal thinker:
“A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds, adored by little statesmen and philosophers and divines. With consistency a great soul has simply nothing to do. He may as well concern himself with his shadow on the wall. Speak what you think now in hard words, and to-morrow speak what to-morrow thinks in hard words again, though it contradict every thing you said to-day. — 'Ah, so you shall be sure to be misunderstood.' — Is it so bad, then, to be misunderstood? Pythagoras was misunderstood, and Socrates, and Jesus, and Luther, and Copernicus, and Galileo, and Newton, and every pure and wise spirit that ever took flesh. To be great is to be misunderstood.”
― Ralph Waldo Emerson, Self-Reliance
I believe that Little’s proposition of Obamacare perhaps amounting to a tax is reasonable. It seems to me that perhaps you view Obamacare—in requiring a purchase—as a new extension of the nanny state. I definitely see the nanny state aspect of government; however, being the cynic that I am, I see it more of a “toddy state” of the wealthy.
You asked me what other purchases should be mandated; I’m not giving this any thought. Nevertheless, whether we like it or not, they have, e.g. seatbelts, airbags, safe boating equipment, helmets, and car seats for infants and others for children.
well the real numbers came out today, if you can call them that.
The feds have "signed up" 50 thousand. That took 45 days.
Now by signed up, the feds counted anyone that put a health care plan "in their account"
These people refused to tell us how many people are actually paid. They claim they dont know. that is not true. I'll bet a UNH Tervis Tumbler that is a lie.
Here is Jason Chaffetz, in the funny video of the day, making some hack named Park look like a ******* moron-right after he told him he is wicked smaht:
Lately I've been thinking of Justice Roberts.
His courthouse is not a hermitage; justices do read newspapers.
What does he think now of his vote, one of the five that upheld Obamacare?
I think I know.
He's still worried the NSA spy stuff they have on him will come out.
Who do you think is paying the bill for the costs to the system for the no money uninsured today? Your tax dollars have been paying $11.5 billion a year to states defray the cost of uncompensated and undercompensated care that arises when the 'free stuffers' go to the hospital. This subsidy has been drastically cut because of the assumption that all states would expand Medicaid.
As you would expect, most of the subsidy went to the Republican states where the poorest lived. So if you are the state of SC and are looking at a major cut to the $322 MM subsidy for health care for the uninsured, where do you get the money?
Raise taxes? Take money away from other programs? Let the people die in the streets?
How about expanding Medicaid.
Who do you think 'Pays' for Medicaid?
