Last night NoMoCo waves cracking, whitewater, fish were watching Nets Heat game because none could be bothered taking any of my offerings. Have to light a candle at church tommorow, in need of some divine intervention.

Fished nomoco from 7:00 AM til about 3:30 not a damn thing.
Threw everything in the bag at them and nothing.
Even did a little dead sticking with clams and nada.

Did hear of some shad caught again

Wish the rest of you all better luck

Fished SH 4:30-8pm as i was going through saw a crowd of guys fishing one area. Not much into fishing in close quarters with people so i continued on my way. Got skunked throwing out a burble sp and fished clams with only skates to show for it, waves were pretty rough today.

I've had the same skunk as most others for the last few weeks.  Hope to see it turn soon, but I have no personal frame of reference for November.  Last November was shot with the storm and the November before, I had only been surfcasting for a month...although I do remember reading everyone being depressed because there was no fish until things exploded down at ISBP around Thanksgiving (I think?)  With that, is the expectation that we all have for a lot of fish and/or big fish as soon as late September hits an unreasonable one because the fish don't show with regularity until mid to late November and we're all just way too excited to early, or is something different happening?

Regardless, I'm going to try again tomorrow morning because I'm sitting on my couch right now and I can confirm that the folks who say "you can't catch fish sitting on your couch" are 100% correct, at least as it relates to my couch.

Fished IBSP 1:00pm until about 10:30pm, was a nice day weather wise but not so good for the fishing. The beach was packed as far as the eye could see in both directions with people and trucks. Fished Ava with eel teasers and got nothing, also threw some clam for a few hours and got about 10 skates. :(

It's a depressing time to be a surfcaster. That's why I boat fish LL.gif. Ran solo on my boat after the owner of the boat I usually fish on had to spend the day with his wife confused.gif. I was feeling like a surfcaster for most of the morning, with little to show for drifting eels, then mid day I went on the hunt and everything came together and I had bass rolling on the surface feeding on sandeels. I quickly learned my cheap discount ava's had very crappy hooks after I lost several fish to bent open hooks. That will have to be remedied. Caught fish the whole afternoon til dark on light spin tackle. Multiple 20's boga'd and released. I had the GoPro running on and off until the battery crapped out only to realize 2/3 of the way through that the lens was fogged up mad.gif. Pretty weak.

Today gave me reassurance that while most of the striper population has been caught and weighed in at local tackle shops, there are still a few stragglers left! Long live the stragglers!

Agreed, the hooks are junk. No way they are VMCs of any sort.

Was the the guy banging the stripers fishing a bucktail?

Went out on my buddy's boat yesterday off SHand caught a few in the 15 lb range on my surf rod and rubber shads. Took awhile to get dialed in but it was nice to fight some fish.
