I found this interesting in the UK there is no charge for having a heart attack or a replacement heart if you need one.

They're free!

It's the "demand" that makes treatment an ethical profit scheme.    :D

No cost for a heart attack in the UK.......

Both cardiovascular disease (CVD) and coronary heart disease (CHD) have significant economic costs for the United Kingdom.

In 2009 CVD cost the UK health care system around £9 billion. 64 per cent of this cost was for hospital care, whereas 23 per cent was the cost of medication.

More statistics can be found in our publications Coronary Heart Disease Statistics 2012 and European Cardiovascular Disease Statistics 2012.

That's courtesy of the British Heart Foundation

You can have a heart attack for free pretty much anywhere in the world.

Mine cost me $100. That was my deductible for going to the emergency room.

Don't recall what it cost my insurance carrier. Between 80 and 100 grand most likely

This made me chuckle.

I too would rather you have a heart attack in the UK where you could get treated when you are unemployed and can't afford insurance. We have enough of you people in the US doing the same damn thing. cwm27.gif

Assuming he paid taxes, if you divide the $14.5B by the 63M Brits, it works out that he paid $230 for the heart attack I hope he didn't have.

Of course, that assumes every man, woman and child paid into the health system, so I'm sure if he's a tax payer, his share was more than $230

And it probably was this costly, why?

If you have a heart attack, do you even want  a doctor that will do the work for 230 bucks?

because the costs had to help cover the same treatment for who knows how many people that had a heart attack but no way to pay for treatment, because despite what a few folks around here would like us to think, we don't just say eff you to those that need the treatment but can't pay.

I tripped over two heart attack victims on my morning stroll.
It seems folks are dieing in the street now that Obama care has kicked in.
