4x4fishin
A little over two years ago I decided to upgrade and buy a Lamiglas Pro Surf Rod I got the MH stick 3-6 oz. I love the rod but have broken it 4 times in the past two years. The top half becomes lose from the bottom and if you don't catch it and get a good cast in SNAP!. Which really sucks. Luckily the first three times the dealer was nice enough to replace it for me. The fourth time I didn't want to bother them so I sent it in for fast track warranty (a 100 bucks) that was a few weeks ago and haven't heard anything yet. While I was waiting maybe it was a mistake I bought another Lamiglas same series but I got the 2 - 4 oz weight I wanted to through some lite tackle. I really love the rod it is really great for tossing lite stuff and working plugs. But of course last night I am out throwing a 1.7 oz live target mackerel and I guess some how my line got under the reel with out me noticing and SNAP! there goes my 5th Lamiglas break in 2 years. The trouble is I really like the rods because you can work lures really good with them but they keep breaking. Does any one else have trouble with these rods I really am starting to think its the Rod and not me I have a similar St Croix that I use almost as much and have never broken it. Just wanted peoples opinion on lamiglas and other upscale rods obviously with the fall run coming up im going to need to get another rod because even if I send this one in for warranty who knows when ill see it. Side note - both rods were 10 ft - If I get another rod I want to stay around 2-4 hundred dollars and around 1-3 oz lure weight Thanks for any advice! I considered a 1 pc but I have a lid on my pick up which I lock with all my fishing equipment. I do a lot of fishing right from work so I need to be able to lock it up. 4x4fishin
Theres the break and model whats everyone think. I know why the larger stick broke because it did not have a tight fit from top to bottom but im not sure about this one just snapped while casting. Micodese
Both of my lami's are two pieces. Only reason to look into a one piece is using it pencil popping because I found after a while the top piece would spin. Also easier to transport and conceal. Don't get me wrong there is a lot of debating about it. That is another thread Live for something or die for nothing. HateBreed

ChasingTales
4x4 those are of two differnt rods. The top is a super surf( green blank black trim) but the bottom pic is the surf and jetty(gray blank black trim gold lettering). Unless the top pic color came out weirdly. I own 4super surfs 2 infinity 2 surf and jetties 1 indian river 1black salt. I had. 2 Ron Arra. I have only broken one rod due to the hook getting caught on a guide during the fwd swing on my chunker and I wasn't able to guide the rod into the water so into the rocks it went. Lamiglas customer service has always been great for me. Also the Xs is just the factory built GSB that has been a work horse in MTK for years. That is very strange I know the arras did not like to be high sticked no rod does but some are a little more resilient than others
4x4fishin
The color on the rods are the same they just came out different in the picture....I guess i'll give them a ring and see what they can do. Its a shame I really like working with these rods but they just don't hold up.

4x4fishin
I just spoke to the dealer at the tackle shop he told me to take the rod to the surf show and speak with the lamiglas rep who will be there and see what he says. The rods only a few weeks old.
ChasingTales
Might as well call lamiglas and send it in. Nit much the rep can do for u on the spot. There might be a chance for him to swap it out with one he has on had.
