As usual, post reports here.......as little or as much detail as you would like to provide the reader. Please don't post specific street names or areas. Sometimes just a town name is too much information! Doing so only adds to the traffic in certain areas and it might cause an internet feud. For example, you can say that you caught fish in Ocean County but saying that you got them at Ocean Beach is a no-no. Feel free to share any thoughts you might have on local conditions and "I got the old skunkaroo" reports" are OK too.

Some popular acronyms:

SH- Sandy Hook

NoMoCo- Northern Monmouth County

SoMoCo- Southern Monmouth County

SFZ-Spring Fling Zone (SRI-Shark River Inlet to MI- Manasquan Inlet)

OC Ocean County

IBSP-Island Beach State Park

LBI- Long Beach Island

AC- Atlantic County

CISP- Corson's Inlet State Park

CMC- Cape May County

CMR- Cape May Rips

"In the back" - Rivers and Bays

I "fished" a lil out front today. Main goal was to get my little guy out on the sand.

Water was cold :scared: no fish to speak of...except for a goog catching and keeping a striper that was borderline at best...bunker was his bait.

Shenanigans were observed at SH...I'll keep my distance for the next 3 months.

Fished various CMC spots from early Saturday evening into Sunday morning. I hit the bay, two beaches and an inlet. I ended up with two weakies in the bay. Four in the inlet. All keeper size. Threw plugs at one beach and skunked. Threw salted clam and caught a dog. I probably would have caught a ton of dogs if I didn't decide to call it quits and move while the tide was going toward slack.

Tell us a little about these shenanigans.

Tip-toe-thru-the-tulips run to the waters edge and then the always amusing one handed cast...strong littoral current today and yahoos trying to hold bottom with 2 oz sinkers

Family set up camp 15' to my right and kids celebrated by throwing shovelfuls of sand up in the air.....right into that spirited SW wind...into my face. Good times Bill :D

I always try to walk far away from people at sandy. Even north beach is getting busy. With the fishing beach being closed we don't have much of an option but to walk through the tip. Unless your fishing at night or super early.

Enjoy everyday!!

I went crabbing with my brother and my mom to fill some old bay cravings we were all having.

We got 2.5 dozen in about three hours; a little slow but it's expected this early in the season.

I also got a nice soft shelled crab which is rare by my experience for this time of year.

In other news I may have stumbled into the best eel trapping waters in the state. As I was wading through the flats disturbing patches of seaweed to flush out crabs I was scaring off a ton of eels. The big ones are fast but the small ones stayed in the seaweed when I was scooping up crabs.

Maybe it's time to start slinging some snakes. Fished brigantine for the past two days. Sat was and ok day caught 4 blues off the surf and a ton of sharks. Had one huge hit on a bunker head but I think it was a shark. Didn't take the whole thing. Sun was kinda a was wind was the killer. Tried out front and then moved to the back nothing. I held with a 5 oz Sputnik. My buddy couldn't hold with a 6 oz dimond.

Elvers have left the ..........................

"Law enforcement’ is not something sovereign citizens seize from police officers. It is a societal function that citizens delegate to civil police.

In so doing, we do not abdicate our own sovereignty, nor our duties as citizens. Ultimate responsibility is still ours. When those we hire as our “Protectors” are either unwilling or unable to perform that function at the critical moment, there is no law, nor standard, that says we cannot perform it for ourselves"........ Posted this in the May thread by mistake.  Time is flying this season.  Next thing you know were gonna be chasing em in the fall.

5-11 bouncing around various spots and nada.  First stop out front only thing I saw was Mr. Osprey picking up some bunker breakfast and that was all.  Moved to the back hoping to get back on those big gators from a few days ago at the flip but didn't find em.  The fluke guys however were doing the highfive.gifall around.

Hope you released those less then 6" eels !

Of course!!!

But dam those strict NJ regulations...I was really hoping to put a 7/0 Gami through the lower lip and out the eye of those 2-3" eels. They would be great DINK bait.

Caution: Extreme Sarcasm

Do eel pots need to have a name plate/tag if they will be left overnight?
