Monster striper fishing from the Colorado River, Arizona

Thread Starter
Got a message from a couple crazy guys from Bullhead City, AZ. they sent me pics of monster striped bass from the Colorado River being caught on swimbaits, figured I'd fit right in...We stuck a 37 pounder and some fish in the 10-12 pound range. I put a video together from the trip:

(*edited - sorry, but we do not allow videos that contain advertising in them, not posting of commercial website links - Steve in Mass)

It's ok Manny I loved your Striper Hunterz video. You guys are having a blast! There are rules on this site so that it doesn't get bogged down with junk. Your video is far from junk as I'm sure you already know!

Yes, Yes there are some big stripers down here! I seen a couple of them including an man named Rusty who fishes every weekend caught one over 32 pounds! I live in Havasu just south of BHC. The fish had to come from Lake Mohave between Davis Damn and Hoover Damn wink.gif I bet the swim bait was a imitation of a rainbow trout with out seeing it wink.gif

Actually his post was only to try and drum up business by spamming this site. He hasn't joined the community as we see you really haven't either except to post "adds" for your buddy.
The site rules state that such post are not allowed and yet all 13 of your post are blatantly ways to sell some bodys product.
Please if you want to be part of the site then go by the rules you agreed upon when you signed up.

Winch, just because the 13 things I commented on you can see and bash me on doesn't mean i don't look at other things or talk to others from this community that I have been a part of for a year I think. Also last time I checked my good friend that I comment on mostly is supposedly your friend too. Our so I thought. I am an adult I would appreciate being treated like one. So is Manny... Thanks for your time I hope you take this to heart. Not everyone on here needs to be childish and that includes me.

Travis your new and probably don't understand that the owner of this site gives us a wide berth in what we can say or do. The big No no. Is coming on here and promoting your business or shelling for another. The reason is that the owner of the site has a business that sells gear and has sponsors that pay for us to have this bandwidth. This is his income and we have all signed an agreement, you included to not break that rule. You mention my friend Mike P who I think very highly of and I myself am happy he is going commercial. The thing is Mike would never break a rule like you did. Neither would I.

As for why I poked you well when a moderator removed Manny's link you jumped right in and posted his business so you broke the rules. Kind of shoving it into the face of the Moderator who was doing his job protecting this site.

Not knowing you, I checked your other post and EVERYONE was pushing someones commercial business. 13 post in a year and not one question asked or answered. Or trying to help some one learn about our fishery. Heck no sports forum, no Tavern, no gear suggestions There was not one where you were basically just being part of the community. Not even your new guy joke. wink.gif

So I hope that clears up what I was seeing. It had nothing to do with Mike P just on what I saw on this site that you posted at that time.
Now for a,

Welcome to the site. smile.gif

Stick around and get involved with the community this site is. You will get more information on anything striper if you ask the questions. Or you can help others learn what this fishery means to us.

I have never had any intentions on breaking rules. If I did so then I can see why you made your assumptions. I'm just a passionate guy who sticks up for good people, and believe it or not I have crazy respect for you, Mike can't speak anymore highly of you. My comments about Manny were simply that they were having fun and that I liked his video, I didn't bash the moderator or stripers online. I'm a good guy, mike wouldn't be my friend if I wasn't. Thanks for looking out

Oh Travis I bet you are a great person and I under stand your enthusiasm. I have learned more about you in these two post than I knew before.

One of the problems of the Internet is we only get to see a small percentage of what a person or his persona is like on line. That is all we can go by. Unlike personal meeting or just saying hello to some one in person the Internet does not give us that info. That's why I said for you to post more and let us get to know you.

You have noticed Manny has not posted again. Why is that? If he was as passionate as you and I are being about our fishery. Then he would have gone on and talked about all things fishing. From cooking his catch to visiting other states to fish and even showing pictures of his new born babies.

He didn't. Like many guides he is trying to drum up business and too often this site gets such spam. He didn't even come back on with an apology for posting such a commercial video. Like oops sorry my bad. Then he could have gone on to actually talk about fishing his area. What its like, what he uses, or when is the best bite. With out mentioning his business. That is what this site is about.

Anyway next time we get a group gathering come on down and meet the characters here. Till then post some more and join in on some of the discussions. You delta/ lake/ river guys could teach lots of the easter out there on the techniques that you use that are far different that what they use back there. Even Mikes lures can pop up on how you use such types in those conversations and its all good. wink.gif

Any time Winch, yeah looks as if you are right about Manny, I'm not gonna lie, I'm a little disappointed that he hasn't either. Speaking of fisheries, the LMB on the delta has been heating up. I've caught at least 8 over 5lbs this month. Time to hone my line side skills some more. Been a month since I've even fished for em!
