Anyone hear anything yet on regs or season? We are only a month out of last year's opening day.

As far as i'm aware of, it's still the same, 2 fish at 12"s, that's a long way from the old day huh?

Ya. It's too bad. 2 fish is plenty for me usually. Also want to know when the season opens.

I never thought I'd be able to respond to something and be familiar with the old days.

The reduction in bag limit effectively ended my fishing hobby. I used to put my boat in to be ready to fish the open, and would fish more during the flounder season than all the rest of the season. Now I don't own a boat and have moved onto another hobby.

The season is from 3/23 - 5/21 and NO FALL SEASON.

We never made it that far into the season...the blue fish always showed up well before Mothers day and we were onto bass by then.

I'll never forget one fall, 8 or 10 years ago, we're carrying out buckets of winter flounder and quasi taunting all the guys who were skunked while targeting bass.

I miss flounder fishing.

I love getting out to fish and they bite first.

maybe the act of filling buckets with flouder has a lot to do with reduction in the bag limit. A little self control goes along way. Just saying.

Uh, no, that had a near minimal impact. But I suspect the commercial fleet that hammered them mercilessly in summers past might have a clue where a few remain. Oh, and where did all the eelgrass go? headscratch.gif Perhaps when that comes back, flounder will have some viable habitat to lay their eggs. cwm40.gif Might even give weakfish a reason to return...

Just sayin' what? Your implication is that my handful of exceptionally good trips wiped out a fishery, and that's silly. If making yourself look like a fool, here on the internet was your goal, congrats. icon14.gif Mission accomplished. smile.gif

Sha-up you. cwm13.gif I'm a flounder killing machine who leaves nothing but scorched earth...errr...sea, in my wake. Argh!

All in saying is if everybody had the same attitude as you there woul be no fish left period. You can lie to yourself all you want but it does have an impact. I for one am glad people like you gave up fishing. Have fun in your new hobbie. The ocean wanted me to tell you thanks.

And since you fish as much as you do, far more then KoQ ever did, when you do the math - 1 fish out of 10 that are released die - you kill far more fish.

You should cut your fishing way back - the ocean hates you
