State Parks Empire Pass 1-day sale

I haven't been in the forums much lately, but thought that some of you might like to know that NYS is selling the $65 Empire pass for $40 on Monday - online only. "The discount will strictly apply only to online orders placed between 12 a.m. and 11:59 p.m. on Monday, November 26. "

Before purchasing a 2013 Empire Passport...

"Please be aware that a number of our parks on Long Island were severely damaged by Hurricane Sandy and may not fully open as scheduled for the 2013 season. Please check our website for updates."

Do the monies from the permit sales help fund the parks and or their personnel. If they do than this is one year I will make sure I buy it. No matter what my plans are, the parks need our support.

It is my understanding that most all the money collected by NYS PARKS goes into the State's General Fund and all its operational and capital expense funds come out of the General Fund as requested by each Region, submitted by Commissioner Harvey, and finally decided by the Governor and elected leadership. I guess the Master Builder did it differently and as a result, this is why we have the present ystem.

I like to have it so I can go out east for a look after 8 a.m. during the season and not have to cough up $8 just to park in the lot. There's a press release on the NYSOPR&HP Web site under "Newsroom." Three-pass maximum during the sale.
