Would like to start of by saying I have all kinda respect for the police and the job they do. Without them this place would turn into a big ********. That being said I was givin a ticket for trespassing today while fishing a well know deal jetty. I understand that they were just doing there job but damn. They had two cars blocking my truck. As I got closer to them was told to put my gaff and rod down. After about a half hour of waiting was givin a mandatory court appearance ticket. What ever happened to cutting a guy a break. Haven't even had a ticket for speeding in 15 years. But whatever i did it now i just gotta deal with it. At the end was told by the officer that they were givin a order to crack down on all the people crossing the fences. So what I'm trying to say is in Deal we are not welcome. Or at least that's the impression the officer was given me. And now I just looked it up and it could be up to a $500 fine. Great. Like I got money to just piss away

Still looking for my first 30.

I know where you're talking about. I remember that fence. But I went at night and my car, which doesn't look like it belongs to a surfcaster, was parked further up the street. I'm sorry this had to happen to you but thanks for alerting us to be aware.

We were never Welcome...LMAO cant believe they treated you like a criminal(putting rod n gaff down) its not like they dont know your fishing on the jetty walking up in waders and a surf rod.

On the other hand you took that chance going around a "No Trespassing" sign. hopefully you can talk to someone day of court and it might be dropped to court costs let us know what happens

"when is the date".

Didn't they take Bob Dillon in for vagrancy while he was out on a walk.......untill they realized who it was....

"Law enforcement’ is not something sovereign citizens seize from police officers. It is a societal function that citizens delegate to civil police.

In so doing, we do not abdicate our own sovereignty, nor our duties as citizens. Ultimate responsibility is still ours. When those we hire as our “Protectors” are either unwilling or unable to perform that function at the critical moment, there is no law, nor standard, that says we cannot perform it for ourselves"........ John Farnam.

I don't know Deal, but you have to wonder about the legitimacy of this. Was there a posted ordinance, whether temporary or otherwise? I drove past Deal right after the storm and they had a giant dozed pile of sand blocking the end of the street with a spray painted "no tresspassing" sign on a piece of plywod. The mound now seems to be at the beach entrance location, not the top of the road. There doesn't appear to be any real debris on the beach that would be a hazard. All of the home work is being done above the "bluff." I guess I am just wondering if this is overkill or some other knee-jerk attempt to keep people away altogether.
