Grand Slam Weekend

Fishing was outstanding in the bay this past weekend..Each night like clockwork once the tide started rolling thousands of snapper blues and hickory shad would come in and just boil the surface feediing.. And under all of that some nice fish were to be had.. The Weakfish bite continues to be Red Hot, got a great start to the fall tagging season with Striped Bass and even a out-of-season Fluke was hanging around...

IBSP Noon until 5:30pm. Snapper blues galore and one short fluke. Saw large blues busting bait about 500 yards off the beach on a few instances. Other than a pod of dolphins, that was it. Beautiful day though.

Oh, forgot to mention I saw some sturgeon jumping. Not very big, maybe 3 feet long. Was cool as hell though, I had no idea what they were til this older fellow told me. Way way cool.

Does moco have the same amount of weed of front as we do down here? It has been so thick right in the wash the past week. I swear if I could keep my plugs, tins, or swim shads free of the stuff I'd have a fish or two. Had a skate and a few cocktail blues the other evening.

Went looking for a Jersey Red last night. Worked some jetties. Ended with my 4th inshore slam of the season. Had a blue, fluke, a handful of weakies, and a bass. Dropped 2 other bass.
Bass on a black mag darter, all other fish on a 1/4oz jig head and white twister.
