I think, as a human being, you have every right to be able to protect yourself - the problem becomes proving that you were honestly afraid for your safety - and then hoping the court agrees that you had a right to be afraid :o

The law is good, the limits of exercising it are as clear as can be outlined...we're at the mercy of an agenda-riddled media nation to get the "facts"...Even after this is examined and decisions are rendered either by the police or by the courts, we'll never have the truth.

And I don't believe that popular groups of racial activists (as opposed to true civil rights advocates) banding together to make demands against another person based only on race should be considered, let alone covered by the afore mentioned hype-type media.

Outlaw Bikers, Af. Am. Gangsters, Skinheads, IRS auditors....Most dress alike and act alike purely for the purpose of intimidation...And there are Wannabe's for each and every one of these categories. I call them Dress-up Barbie's and Dress-up Ken's.

So if an otherwise innocent person is offended by someone lumping them into some general lot because they dressed-up like a gangster and their reaction is now to act like the type they've dressed-up as....well....they might not like the real conclusions that an observer might draw.

Look, Gang violence, race riots, bullying Biker gangs and IRS audits happpen. If I play dress-up biker, if I wear colors, if I strut into a neighborhood bar and become offended when I draw, fearful, cautious attention to myself, and my reaction is to then act like a threat...what can I expect? Even mice fight when you corner them....

Not saying that's what happened in Florida at all - I'm talking generalities -and (unfortunately) these prejudices are fair and warranted. If the truth offends you - then it sux to be you.

It should be universal. When some punk ass scumbag attacks you, there's no viable reason you should not be allowed to take out the trash.

Anyone running around a gated community in Fl is gonna bring a few eyebrows up. Black or White you will be asked what are you doing there.....

I do like the FL castle law.

There is only two people that know exactly what happened that night and one of them is not talking.... ever.

He ran, was chased and found. Did he charge the man with the gun?

So will you teach your kids to be respectful of the authorities?????

There's no need to blow smoke up my ass as a lengthy preamble to your insulting another person. It doesn't fool anyone and it doesn't garner any favor.

From what I am hearing the kid was heading back home from a 7/11 C store purchasing a bag os skiddles and a drink and was in a gated community when confronted by a self proclaimed neighborhood watchmen(the neighborhood watch committee denies he was a part of their watch group) calls 911 to report the kid and the dispatcher told him to not follow the kid and he didn't do that and confronted the kid then shot and killed him!

I believ that the kid didn't want any trouble that is why he had a soft drink with him and was a victim. This guy was thinking he was able to shoot this kid within the law that he was being threatened but he is wrong. What went wrong was law inforcement letting this guy walk the streets with his weapon after he shoots and kills someone which is a travesty of injustice
