Fishalicious
I was pleased with the Emerger waders I bought last fall and wanted to pick up a boot-foot version as an alternative. Unfortunately, they've been discontinued. Anyone have any experience with the "Fly Weight II" model? godzilla
call the different LL Bean retail shops directly. I saw a few emerger bootfoots in Albany store last week in the on sale rack for $140. GDTRFB
Fishalicious
call the different LL Bean retail shops directly. I saw a few emerger bootfoots in Albany store last week in the on sale rack for $140. That's a good call, but I was hoping to take advantage of the holiday discount and free shipping from the online store. Worth a shot, though. Hardcore
Bootfoot waders are becoming extremely hard to find. The only options are unknown, smaller companies with questionable warantees. Simms Offers bootfoot option but to the tune of $100 on top of the already hefty price tag. raybliu
The same discussion on Emerger boot foot was discussed in this thread below. The long and short of it was that they were still available and on sale just about a month ago even though they were not in the on line catalog. I had the same concern about them being discontinued and ordered an extra pair for myself. Try to call them directly and see if they still have them. http://www.stripersonline.com/t/819445/ll-bean-emergers-discontinued
Sudsy
Good for you guys - I went through 3 pairs that all leaked in the crotch right out of the box (not a comfortable thing) After the third pair they made me a deal I couldn't say no to to upgrade to the Helix line. So far, 3 years now, the Helixes are the best waders I've ever owned by far (and for the retail price they'd sure as hell better be). GJohnson
I used to have the LLBean emerger bootfoot. They redesigned them slightly a few years back and the new boot they encorporated was less comfortable then the original. It was when they got rid of the felt bottoms. I also had a similar situation where I could only get a season out of them before a leak appeared. I went with the LLBean rapid river boot foot (they credited the cost of the emerger) and have used that the last few seasons. I love them. They are a little more rugged and the material is thicker. The boot is a wading shoe which is encorporated into the wader and is VERY comfortable!
godzilla
bean recently replaced my emerger bootfoots after 3 years or so of use, for free. At first they said they weren't available anymore, but the guy on phone found em with a little looking. Very comfortable boot, reasonably breathable. Due to broken ankle in spring, for more support, i also got one piece lace up bootfoots from bean, which were considerably more expensive, but guaranteed for life. they are awesome. hybrid between regular rubber bootfoot and separate lace up boots, with no chance of sand getting in. Very happy with them. last time i will ever have to spend on waders again. GDTRFB

godzilla
Bean discontinued the felt bottoms, b/c of issues with fisherman cross contaminating different waters with non native organisms. new rubber soled boots still super comfy. raybliu
just checked website. no bootfoot rapid rivers online. Call their on line store. I was told LLB may have temporaryily taken their on sale items out of the on line catalog while they are no sale. That's how I got my spare pair. I thought leaking at the crotch happened to my Emergers as well until I took a closer look and found it was just perspiration. That said all 3 of my Emerger bootfoot leaked around the boot within a year. I still like them as they are just one of a handful of manufacturers I know that still carry the non laced boots. rocket500
I'm on my 4th set of Rapid Rivers. They last about half a season before massive leakage at the seams in the boots. Can't fix the leaks.
Fillet & Release
I was in LL bean a few weeks ago and talked to a guy who said that they are revamping there wader line cause of the leaking issues on some model he said to check back around Feb... might have been the reason they didnt have much in stock and neither did the warehouse
