Interesting. I remember 40 years ago in the majors, a batter could only change sides if the pitcher changed or until there were two strikes on the batter. I don't know when , or if, that ever changed. It came up once when Mickey changed against Hoyt Wilhelm because Mickey said with the knuckle ball, it didn't matter which side he batted from.
