scarecrow
What size braided line do you recommend for a spinning reel thrown metal to spanish and blue fish. I am wanting to get as much distance and I can and still be strong enough I do not need to use a shock leader.

JohnnyK
For 1-3 oz, I also use 30#. If it's going to be smaller lures, 1/2-1 oz, I'm using a smaller rod and reel with 20#.
Tall Paul
I've been using 15# PP for throwing 1-2 oz. stingsilver and glass minnow lures. Haven't had any problems with it . I've put a short section of flourocarbon leader ( 2-3 ft. of 20#) only because the spanish seem to shy away from my red braid when tied direct. dcast
I use braid 20lb running line to 50lb braid casting leader to a 2' fluro or mono to lure.
flytyingguy1
I'm assuming your fishing down south? I fished South Carolina for spanish & Blues & used 20lb braid. I was throwing between 3/4 & 2 oz Kastmasters on a 8' St Croix Mojo. I also used a 30lb 30" Mono bite leader.

bball09124
I would go with 20 lb braid, a few feet of mono, and then a few inches of wire so you dont get bit off.
